Sorry - last question and I will shush - do H SA’s give holiday or special event gifts like Chanel and other luxe brands? At what level of VIP / relationship would that be customary for H?

One more question... re: relationship & having other relatives (spouse, etc) also shop for you... should they always use your SA or can it harm the relationship if they shop where they are? (They frequently travel and prefer to shop while traveling)

Hi, I’m interested in finding perspective of what is better for a long term relationship: shop with a store manager in a smaller location or shop with an SA in a larger location?
SMs will typically not act as SAs and will likely pass you off to a lower associate as they have much more in depth responsibilities.

yes! I had an old SA who is now a store manager and it’s been a couple years and I clearly remember them, obviously there are receipts that show they were my SA, but they have the worst attitude - literally saying something along the lines of “I’ve never met/ helped you before” and I’m like “actually you have...more than once...and I know you can see it in my history too” lol
Sounds like this SM shouldn’t be worked with even if they were willing.

Is it normal to receive a small gift when you purchase your first quota bag? I’ve seen a couple people post small things - H cookie, H candies, etc - even a mini bottle of champagne given by the SA.
Its not very typical. Some times the stores will have left over items from a holiday event or an RTW local showing and give them out randomly but it’s very seldom.

H doesn’t give VIP gifts very often at all. Maybe once every few years theyll create a cool item and send it to a few dozen clients. So if you can spend enough in the right categories for long enough to make the top clients globally...

Any purchases made under your profile should be under your store/SA.

Hello everyone, hoping to get some perspective. Just started my hermes journey recently and I am in a pretty competitive area. I wonder if I am spending too much too fast? So far I have bought 2 shoes and fine jewellery which total to 5 digits. Also ordered some plates which the SA is ordering for me. I know for some people this is not a lot however for me this is not insignificant. I have the SA contact details and they have been very nice but I am wondering if I am setting myself up to be expected to always drop these amounts regularly to get offered a bag?
I am now reading other threads and people always say to start slow buying twillies and scarves but I feel like I just went straightaway to those high commission items. Financially I am comfortable and can afford to buy the bags but can definitely not be considered someone who can drop $500k per year.
Am I being paranoid over nothing? My overall hermes spend would be over 1:1 at this point however I did start in 2016.
thanks for reading

I honestly don't think there's a "too much too fast" with spending. If you like it and can afford it then by all means get it. Sometimes there's a bunch of stuff you want and it is luckily also in stock. When times like that happen I don't hesitate to purchase something as I know that it is possible that I might not have a chance to purchase that item for a long time, or ever if it's seasonal.

After a little while there might not be anything substantial that catches your eye and that's okay. Especially if you were able to get a bunch of your main wants out of the way so quickly. The main objective should be to enjoy yourself.

Thank you! I think my initial post was a little poorly written. I have had a profile with hermes since 2016 however only recently started purchasing seriously and have known the SA for less than a month. Do you think it’s appropriate to ask about a quota bag the next time I see her? So far I have not mentioned it.

As many others have said and @saban put it very well just above, the main objective is to enjoy yourself and the items that you're getting. No amount of money spent is insignificant, whether 5 cents or 5 figures, when you're giving that money to a business in return for services or goods.

Don't think of your purchases as a journey towards anything except having things that bring you delight and pleasure when you see/use them – quota bag included. Start with items that you want. If it's shoes, FJ and china, so be it. It may be an unpopular opinion here, but SAs have all seen the "start small" method and most, especially the SMs, will respond better to someone who is obviously shopping for their own pleasure and enjoying their purchases, than someone who is visibly profile building & playing games to get a quota item.

Edit to add: just saw that you responded while I was writing the above. Yes, since you've been a long-time customer (even if you're not there buying every other week), in my opinion if you want an item, mention it. Good luck and hope you share your beauties with us :flowers:

Thank you! I am kinda socially awkward although I mask it well lol so I feel very nervous about it.
I do love my purchases and I usually like lots of random things so I think that will help my profile.
is it ok to put 3-4 bags on the Wishlist or should I really focus on the 2 that I REALLY want given it will hopefully be my first offer

Not sure I have a definitive answer and I am sure more knowledgeable members will chime in later in the day. It really depends on what's on your wishlist, but I always feel too many options means that the SA never knows when to contact you for a sure thing. I would personally definitely mention the 2 you really want, even if one is a long shot.

If you are wanting a quota bag and don't mind potentially waiting a while, then I would definitely let your SA know that you are interesting in getting one in the future. They aren't clairvoyant, so it's best to let them know. Don't overthink it, just put it out there.

Also just be mindful that even if you tell them that you are interested, you might not get an offer for a while or you might get one immediately.

I would only put down what you are willing to buy. As mentioned by @Perja it depends on what your wishlist is.

Thank you! I have 3 bags in mind and 2 of them are my ultimate holy grails. Unfortunately they are pretty in demand so wondering if I should give the SA all three as I would still be happy with the third choice too.
I can’t believe I’m thinking about this so much. The H game is definitely not for the faint hearted!
