Congrats on getting your HG bag!

I’m like you thinking I’m at “purse peace” (love the term!) but my SA calls me to offer me bags if she thinks I’m interested. Granted I rarely buy more than 1-2 quota bags in a year, there were a few years I didn’t buy any H items at all. But with my experience my purchase history is there as long as I’m loyal to their store. So it “rolls over” year after year, whether you spend $10k or $200. Just keep buying whatever you want and sometimes it’s when you’re not asking that you get an offer. If I do have a wishlist I do remind my SA though (like a gold on gold K), but I’ve learned to be patient with H and enjoy what I have.
Thank you for your reply. That’s what I thought too. I want to sit back and enjoy the experience, but when the time comes where I’m ready for another bag, then I would hope my history with the boutique will count for something.

B25 fauve barenia faubourg GHW. Exactly what I wanted! One week my SA is telling me it’s impossible to find one in my specs because of high demand and low supply, the next week it shows up and she makes the offer. Playing with my emotions!
Oh wow! She sounds beautiful. Please come back and share photos when you get her! Is this your first quota bag? If yes, what a fantastic score!

I feel like this is a dumb question, but do equestrian purchases (helmet, breeches, saddle pad) count? I only ask because when a friend ordered a saddle she did not go through her SA, she went through their saddle maker.

I love your profile avatar! Hilarious!

I'd be curious to know about the equestrian items. I've looked at a few for my daughter.

Definitely - my purchase history consists heavily of equestrian gear, sometimes only that for months at a time, and the bags have always come. An equestrian-specific account executive assists my SA with my requests but as long as your boutique orders it for you through the equestrian department within corporate (vs buying online), it's essentially the same as a transfer. The saddles, however, are bespoke so they fit your desired horse perfectly. HTH!

Hi all,

I started shopping at Hermes in 2017 very casually. Found an SA I really clicked with and bought stuff here and there every few months. I unexpectedly got my first B offer in 2019 which I happy purchased. I was offered my second quota last November but turned it down since it wasn't exactly the specs I wanted (wanted retourne and ghw, got offered sellier phw). My SA unexpectedly left Hermes which I am so sad about. When I called the store they indicated they would reassign me a new SA.

My questions are - has this happened to anyone? What happens to my second quota, will I have to start over? I asked to speak to a manager before being reassigned so I can ask them. I live in a city with high demand, big spenders and little inventory so this is disappointing, to say the least. And I live in Canada where we are typically only offered one quota a year (unless you're vvvvip).

Sorry to read your story and I was pleased you were not reacting in an over emotional betrayed manner.
I am sure that your approach with regards to discussing a new SA with the SM is the best course of action.
Please excuse me for citing it as an example, but for everyone's benefit, this is one of those situations that I bang on about when advising caution in becoming reliant on one SA.

I don't think speaking with your SM is a bad idea; let them know that you want to continue being a client of the store & want a new SA that will be as similar to your old one in terms of style. Hopefully they will be able to find someone for you!

On one hand, I wouldn't expect your new SA to treat you as if you've spent all your past purchases with her/him (let's say you got a good spend with your old SA, now your new SA has other clients who have similar spend but with her, she will perhaps have to consider those existing clients of hers before you). On the other hand, I know people who switched SAs because their old ones left, and they were all assured that they will not be considered a "new" client. Your profile and purchase history stays and doesn't disappear. I'm sure if you ask your SM they will say the same thing. In general I think it doesn't hurt to build a little relationship with your new SA so they know who you are, and probably be patient especially if your store has a lot of competition. But you definitely aren't completely starting over. Also, a case like yours (which is out of your hands; your SA left instead of you deciding to get rid of your SA for a new one) is often viewed with more sympathy and understanding.

Good luck!

Oh wonderful! Thanks so much. I am only leasing right now so a ways away from buying a saddle again, but I have my eye on a pad and possibly a pair of breeches. Very happy to hear it counts!

Thank you both. I heard back from the store - not a SM but an associate calling on behalf of the SM - and she did assure me of what you just said. That my relationship with the store is valued. I did mentioned the quota bag I was waiting for and a few other items that I had asked for but haven't come in yet. She seemed really understanding.

And yes, I don't see any reason to overreact; it is life, employees come and go as in any business (especially retail) so I guess just move on and figure the best way forward.

Thanks for the advice.

You have the right approach and attitude. I agree with @momoc’s advise, to continue to spend as you normally would with the new SA, once assigned and since she can see your recent purchase history with the store and knows you were offered a quota bag she will hopefully keep you in mind when bags come into the store and she’s deciding which client to offer such bags to. Patience is definitely key this year as France is still dealing with COVID related manufacturing delays etc. Productions and shipments aren’t there yet in my opinion. Once you do meet your new SA, I think you can go over the items your SA was looking to procure for you as well as your wishlist and prior offer that you declined and perhaps why so she can understand what you like and don’t like.

Agree wholeheartedly. Thank you!

I looked at some of your previous posts, I'm assuming here that you are talking about moving your store relationship to a store that you now live closer to. If not, and you literally just moved a few months ago and are just buying a couple of items, in a single category from your new store relationship - I would give it a bit more time, keep visiting the store and purchasing across the store. If you are starting a relationship w/ your new local store vs. staying in same home store w/ new SA - not sure myself on the purchase history as I've never had this particular situation and I've been lucky to shop w/ one store & single SA. I would venture to say your purchase history lies with the boutique purchased, not with H, so new store would expect some purchase history in their boutique to establish.
I have had a relationship with a local SA for over 2 years. I had to move out of State to a place where there is no Hermès. I had to rely on a remote relationship but she was not engaged. Disappointed and I am kinda mad, to be honest. I spent a lot of time and money with her. Annoying.... anyway... I am moving again but this time to Vegas and I am looking for a SA there so I can build a new relationship locally again.
