Difficult times; different times.
In-boutique SAs were not employed to service a mail/phone/internet order business;
nor are they members of our personal staff to be at our beck and call.
They are doing their best and might well have to prioritise what they can do in the time available.
The next message from a shopper who is always sending follow-up texts and requests could well be generating a 'Oh, not another text from her/him' response as a matter of self-defence. What you might consider to require a simple acknowledgment might be one of dozens of others, each one eating in to the limited time available.
i often need to remind myself that. My SA who I started with in last Oct, is very helpful and very sweet. I often reminds myself to be patient and courteous to her. I know I am the customer, but being nice and empathetic/compassionate goes a long way with everything in life.

i am not making assumption about anyone... but I am the type that likes anwers right away, so I need to remind myself not everyone works that way lol.

You are right! This is why I haven’t followed up since my last text. I want to be patient and understanding of their current situation. Just trying to see if this is the new norm (which it seems like), but I guess when in look on the forum it looks like others have constant communication with their SAs...almost daily communication.

This !
When appointments started, each SA at my store had to manage her own appointment list independently and then had to double check with the main store schedule to slot it in. So on their time off, they had to schedule appointments... totally crazy.
My SA is also not totally tech savvy so it was much easier than pre-pandemic just talking to her or dropping into the store and then waiting for a phone call when anything came in.
Also, they have many clients so it's not realistic to expect instant replies.
Patience is needed, especially now !

Amen to this!
I find myself working 7 days a week at the moment spending my days off checking my work phone all day just in order to acknowledge clients messages and follow things up with my assistant who is in store on the days I'm off (pre-pandemic we always did shifts together) working during the pandemic and lockdown from a sales POV is MUCH MUCH harder.
everything takes longer-sourcing items, checking inventory even doing all the export/shipping/dispatch paperwork is time consuming.
I know that as a client its hard to be Patient when wanting to make a purchase (lord knows I'm the worst for getting obsessed by something and wanting it NOW!) but most teams are on less days, shorter hours and working with less inventory due to delivery delays.
Myself and most of the SA I speak to at work are very stressed at the moment trying to work from our phones and keep our clients happy and informed.
I cannot wait for normality when I can actually relax on my days off and not leaping to check my messages so often!
I'm sure the H SA's all feel the same!

Hi all, I wanted to ask if the inventory is really that low?? what would you do in my situation?

Here's my story: I started my H journey in November. I called the local store and got assigned to this SA. For my first visit, I asked for a Lindy 26 in troupe with GHW and he offered it to me without any prior purchase history. The following month, I purchased shoes, card holder, twilly and scruchie and then I asked about how to get a c or k. He offered me a C24 in gold with PHW, which I turned it down because of the size and it being PHW. I had a hard time saying no since I didn't expect to get offered a C on my second visit and didn't want to offend him. Magically, he came back with a C18 in a light color with PHW. I said YES! I am very grateful for what he has offered me so far.

Today, I went to pick up a wallet and inquired whether he has seen any k or b lately. He said they haven't received any bags and he has only sold K32 since January. He said there are so many people waiting for the avalon blankets and they just don't have any. He even told me that if I can find one in Vegas, I should just buy it and he won't feel anything.

Here comes my question: this is one of the biggest store on the US west coast, is it possible that they have no inventory at all? or is it because I haven't purchased enough? I have purchased some fashion jewelries, a fine jewelry necklace, shoes, twillies, scrunchies, some SLGs, which total up to $9900 (this does not include lindy and constance). or maybe they have too many VIPs and should I consider switching to another store or just go to Vegas like he suggested?

Yes inventory is low! France is in their second lockdown since the end of October, since then there's been curfews and restrictions all of which have impacted inventory tremendously. You only started your journey in November and your SA has been really good to get you a Constance and other items you requested. Perhaps he suggested you get the avalon blankets from Vegas because he is genuinely uncertain when stock will arrive at your local store. If you read other posts on here so many people have spent more than you and still have not been able to purchase a Constance let alone a Kelly - I don't mean to be rude, I am just trying to give you some perspective. Shopping at Hermes is a marathon not a sprint - hang in there.

Thank you for your input! Much appreciated. Please don’t get me wrong. I am super grateful to have a Constance. I was just surprised that there weren’t anything that he has seen lately. I honestly don’t expect any k or anything else with my spending so far, especially with so many VVIPs shopping at that store. I know it times take and I will need to spend more. There are just times that I wish I had tried another store and have less competition.

I hear you, maybe you could try another store if you feel that there's too much competition at your local store. Or give your SA another chance to come through for you. Wishing you the best of luck with your decision - it's not easy!

With inventory so low, how are you all engaging with your SAs? Are you texting just to say or taking a step back?

I don't want my SA to think i've gone off the radar due to the pandemic (i.e. i want her to know i am a loyal, regular customer), but I also dont want to annoy her

I regularly check the French Hermes website ( a lot of items on there that I don't see on my home country website) for the latest items. I compile a list of items I would like to get and then send it to my SA every two to three weeks. If she has any of the items available she sends it out to my home, some she transfers in for me from other stores in my country or from other stores in Europe. For items that she has no idea when they will be receiving she lets me know.

I wonder if the low inventory is due to the significant increase in revenues in Asia? Could stock be down in certain countries because of Asia? Hermes released its quarterly today: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...b-as-shoppers-stick-to-top-brands-in-pandemic
I did see quite a lot of people in Asia got b or k recently. Maybe it’s becuz they just celebrated the lunar new year and got more shipment from Paris. But then, the ratio is this particular asian country for a b or k could be as high as 1:5 .
