icedcoffee, I guess I am not the only one. I will definitely bring up my wishlish again with my SA. Hopefully, I will get my dream bag soon and good luck to you as well
You are not  I feel like giving up (too). I've spent close to 1.5:1 since last year and though I know that's not a lot compared to other H clients, I wonder why it looks so easy for say those youtubers lol. Good idea  I think I'll have to too (because I do worry that she's forgotten about me). GL to you and TY

Oh wow really? I was under the impression you normally dont get asked for your wishlist until you have a relationship with the SA.. im glad to hear your experience!
I wasn't asked about my wish list during my first visit. I brought it up to my SA after maybe 3-4 visits. Now after close to 2 years shopping with my SA, I got 5 quota bags, 2 KPs, 2 mini Lindy's, a Kelly wallet go, a Kelly Danse ...... Your dream bag will come but I totally agree that you need to have a good relationship with your SA. Being nice is key at least that's what works for me. Of course you need the other side of the equation I.e. enough spending.

Can I ask if it is a B or k you are after and which size? That plays a big part to if you are offered a bag. My first bag offer was in Oct 2019 after a 1.2:1 spend but it wasn't the hottest Mini K/K25/B25 but a B30 etoupe ghw. My next 2019 quota bag was also a B30 as I want a noir ghw. Comes March 2020 I got a K28 sellier in noir ghw then later in the year a K25 retourne noir ghw. I then asked for a K25 sellier last month and got one as I told my SA that I really wanted my first 2021 quota bag before the price increase im Feb (you can see that I moving from bigger size bags to getting offers for smaller ones).

I think location also plays a big role
I heard from my SA that the NYC store is the #1 well stocked store

Drooling over your quota bags ❤️

I mean I guess it also depends on how that sa is and how the conversation is going. If your sa asks, great. If you're too shy to mention it at your first meeting then I'd mention it the second meeting. It's always easier when the sa brings it up first haha. But I'm kinda glad she knew what I was looking for early on because she offered me a k25 with a color on my list after two months of shopping with her. So it doesn't hurt to have the conversation early on.

What country are you based in? I think bags don't count toward pre-spend in some countries and are less favorable categories to warrant bag offers. This post summarized the process succinctly (and this too), but it of course varies by country and store so a country-specific thread might be more helpful! HTH!
Yes exactly! I was always told by the various SAs (including one at Crystals that I used to work with and have received several Birkins from) that buying bags is not preferable.

I chose to qualify the word 'relationship' with 'working', so it is only fair that you asked me to explain what I meant by doing so.
Before writing a hasty response I chose to sleep on it hoping to be concise.
The answer has two equally important aspects:
1) 'working' for the purpose of business to be transacted (in contrast to social)
2) 'working' meaning effective

In black and white they appear cold and impersonal, but they are bottom lines.
They have nothing to do with the demeanour of either a customer or a SA, which I hope would always be mutually friendly, cheerful and respectful.
You are a customer; an SA is employed to source and sell you items you wish to buy (in line with the policies of the shop).
However friendly an SA might be towards you in the shop, if you do not get what you want, the business relationship is not 'working' for you.

That is the distinction I wanted to make.
You do not have to look at very much on this forum to read about 'lovely' SAs who have fallen short of what was expected
for one reason or another leaving clients feeling distraught or betrayed because the customer had looked upon the relationship as one of friendship rather than a working partnership.

Thank you for this most thoughtful explanation. It helps to keep things in perspective.

Crystals.
My SA used to work there and told me that it's highly competitive due to the transient nature of the city: healthy foot traffic from tourism + local big spenders from both Nevada, California, and other parts of the west coast.

That said, there was a point in September last year where I spent over 3:1 three months after my first Q-bag offer of 2020 with expectations of receiving my second quota during the holidays. Little did I know that another would come in October followed by yet another in November with zero spend in between the October and November bags.

Just be patient, but diversify your spending if you can. Inventory is sparse but the offers will come eventually. Good luck!

im so sorry, maybe you can ask again?

I spent 1.5:1 for my first offer in September. Then I’ve spent an additional 6k without any other offers, and my SA is placing another order for me now - for another 3k. We get along well, but I’m starting get antsy...

What is on your wishlist? I'm assuming by the ratios mentioned you are aiming for a smaller bag? I spent far more than this on solely home, shoes & fine jewelry (these have been my favorites at H since I started shopping there either way) in a shorter timeframe and still waited 6+ months on a B25 in a neutral color. This was as a regular customer that had received quota bags, even in size 25, previously from my store. Just one anecdote there.

Either way, @acrowcounted has kept me in check many a time in talking about "ratios" and figuring out how much to spend to get a bag and I would highly recommend you read in the thread at her posts and take her advise, especially at my post a couple of weeks ago on this thread where I was agonizing over how much my "leather goods purchases" counted toward a quota purchase lol.

If you are finding yourself going into the store just to spend in hopes you are going to get a bag, I would take a step back and make sure you are buying items you are really happy with, will use, and will work for you vs. buying what you hope your SA will 'like' you to purchase. It's seemed to work out really well for me when I have stopped caring, just buy what I like and my store/SA can tell that I'm buying what I honestly love, and it's worked out for me overall - quota bags or no. I find that I have to continually remind myself that, especially when I get really get the 'bag itch' as it can be very easy, especially reading this forum, to get in the mindset of figuring out how much you've spent relative to a bag offer and as someone that, by personality, really digs into the details and most of the time overanalyzes

Thanks for explaining this to me and for sharing your experience, Ball! I am after yes, a black B25 with GHW lol (though I've given my SA a few other choices I'm open to). I will have to learn to be more patient and know I need to up my spending to possibly/hopefully get it. Btw, your bags are so classic and dreamy!
