For advice on how to shop at your local store please do a search in Hermes Shopping sub-forum and look for your store/region/country.

Oh I didn’t even think of that. I guess I just assumed since it’s the shopping seasons most SAs wouldn’t be taking time off. Thank you! I’ll wait some more.
Just call the store and ask for her. If the person who answers says she’s not there, ask when she’ll be back. If she is there, ask her about the items and if X day time would be good for you to come in for them.

So I am new to Hermes shopping and it seems different than any other store. I really want a constsnce or a birkin, I’ve chosen an sa and bought several items from him. He seems very friendly, however I’ve emailed him several times after each of my visits and he has never responded. Is this normal? I think it’s rude, I’ve spend over 2k in the last 2 weeks and he said that he would call me when any bags came in. I’m doubtful however as he never responds to emails, am I being sensitive? Or should I switch associates?

You should ask him if he’s gotten your emails and if there is a better way to contact him in advance of your appointments with him about wishlist items. I text my SA. Maybe he would rather text, I’m not sure. Does he get things in that you want? How do you schedule appointments with him? I would consider how things are going overall, not just the email piece. But if he’s not responsive or non-helpful in general then I’d do something else.

I would much rather text, but he didn’t give me his number. He acknowledged my email but said he was busy. Last time I waited 2 hours while he finished another appointment. He said that we would call me last week for a Constance and never did.
I would much rather text too, but he didn’t give me his number. Last time I waited 2 hours while he finished another appointment. He said that we would call me last week for a Constansance but never did. I emailed him to let him know I would come in last Thursday to which he didn’t respond and he was off that day When I came in to buy something, I get that buying a quota bag is difficult but I am a bit annoyed at the attitude. I think overall he is very friendly but busy, he has allot of clients. I think more than others at the store.

Sounds frustrating. I would ask him for his work schedule and ask if it changes frequently. You can also follow up on the Constance. Did he say you would be offered one or just that he would let you know? You might need to wait and get to know him more slowly and spend more slowly. He just needs to know that you will be there long-term, and not just for one bag. So let him know that in a subtle way.

He said he would have a bag for me for sure last week, then ghosted me. I understand that everyone is busy and honestly I am too. I have little kids and a full time job and don’t want to spend hours talking to someone and taking their time. I’ll give it another shot and be more patient, I just got the hermes bug and really want a bag

Everyone wants a bag, so get in line! Unfortunately you're going to have to learn to play the H game, which entails patience. While I can see the mixed signals from this new to you SA are confusing, you have to understand that he's obviously very busy with his long list of existing clients (especially during the holiday season), and you're unfortunately very low on his to-do list.

Also, sorry to break it to you, while $2k in any other store over two weeks would make most SA's happy, in the H world that's kind of a drop in the bucket. I'm sure he has multiple regular clients who spent quadruple that in a day during the holidays, and unfortunately (for you), those clients needs/wishes/whims come first.

Goodluck.

Have you considered buying from a reseller? Members here also have had good luck (but not guaranteed) going to the flagship store in Paris.

Is 2k the total amount of H spend you’ve done so far? If so, unfortunately you are probably not getting an offer at this stage especially if you are looking for popular bag specs. There are exceptions and miracles...but generally speaking that’s really nowhere near enough (I’m guessing you are US based). Be prepared to spend a couple times that amount first...

ETA: did he specifically say he is looking to offer you a Constance or was it just you know...polite talk? Again if 2k is your total so far you are probably not near getting an offer. Even if the SA tries the SM will likely not approve his proposal...

I didn’t think Constance was a quota bag so was hoping to purchase one to get spend history. He said he would have a bag for me and that sales associates receiver more inventory during the holidays to meet their quotas. I have not heard from him since, I don’t mind buying other things but would appreciate a follow up. I think it’s just good business practice to maintain a relationship. That’s why I was wondering if all sales associates are like this, if yes then I will buy from a reseller. I want to spend money where people appreciate it, and don’t want to purchase 10k worth of items from someone who ignores my emails and never responds.

Did you make an appointment when you waited two hours or was it a walk in? If it was an appointment then I can see being irritated but if you were just waking you, you can’t expect he will drop his client for you.

The quota bags (b/c/k) take a long time and generally a big spend across categories. There are stories of people getting a quota bag as a walk in or a small spend but those people are not the average story. The SM has to approve the allocation of the quota bag and there’s a lot of competition. Customers with much higher spends can wait a long time for a quota bag, especially if it’s in demand.

if you have spent 2k and a short time and try to switch SAs because you have not yet gotten a quota bag, The SM may not be very helpful in letting the next SA give you a quota bag.

the whole process is very frustrating. I am now at the point where I know the bag will come eventually and I just buy what I want and really enjoy what I purchase.

Good to know thank you! I have no idea how hermes works. It’s not that I haven’t received a bag, it’s lack of response. I didn’t know you have to make an appointment. I sent the sa an email that I will come on a specific day and he never responded to me.

Ah ok firstly you probably didn’t know what quota means - it means you can only purchase a certain number of those bags per year (2 in the US). Constance wasn’t quota but all that meant was you can purchase more than 2 per year / purchasing Constance doesn’t use up the limit of 2/year purchase of Birkins and Kellys. HOWEVER Constance is a bag that requires pre spend in order to get offered - it is basically exactly the same as a Birkin or Kelly. You are not going to be able to use your Constance as a spend ratio for B or K at all. Think of Constance to be exactly the same as a B or K in terms of being offered one - your 2k is spend ratio FOR a Constance. And by the way there are many places where Constance is even harder / requires more to get than Birkin or Kelly.

Also starting this year Constances are now quota in the US (meaning a total of 2 B or K or C per year). HTH! Good luck.

Even C wasn’t quota bag but I think they still reserve for the longtime clients first . H game have more silenced rules and even different from SA to SA ...
