For everyone who has been longtime customers of Hermes, 2 years or more. Are you always constantly buying to keep the relationship or do you have non buying gaps? Say not purchases for few months, half a year? Etc I love Hermes and my SA but I can see purchasing things I like when I want them but that can mean not buying something for 5 months. Like any brand I like somethings but not all. What are your experiences?

I show up every two or three months minimum, but there is no rule. You might just want to see the leather swatches for the new season. Only buy what you like, and try not to feel pressure. I would just recommend you don’t go too fast - new things will always be around the corner. But if you literally have no contact with your SA at all for 5-6 months, and you’re after something specific that’s available now, you might want to go in sooner than that. You don’t need to buy something each time you go in. You’re in charge of your spending!

‘Fortunately’ I’m addicted to one of Hermès perfumes so I visit the store every 8 weeks to restock. Other than that, I only buy things that I really like - a scarf each season and maybe something else too. I focus on one SA and my B/K requests are fulfilled, allowing for the usual wait times. I think I’m lucky with my store though.

It’s tricky as my store is one state away. So at minimum I go 2 times a year but average 3. I figure that is enough times. I only buy from my SA unless we are in Europe.

Alright I'm posting in this thread after lurking for so long.

Impatience is a thing and patience is not exactly my biggest trait.

I'm building a H relationship with the Madison Store in NYC and I do love our SA, I would not work with anyone else. I am happy to buy what I love and I'm actually keen on popping into the store before the month ends to shop the a/w scarves and skills and maybe some small leather and shoes. I see myself regularly purchasing what I love from H especially scarves and fashion jewelry, sometimes gold jewelry too but not often on gold.

Here's my problem. I want a variety of H bags. I don't need to get them all at once (and not budgeted for that either) but I need a clutch (or K25) soon and another everyday bag could be a k28 but prefer a B25 more for casual daily use. I don't even have ONE h bag yet. I need one to tide me over while I build my H collection. All those sumptuous leathers and stunning colors!!! Aaahhh please slap me!!!!!

I am a petite lady and also because of a past back injury I typically carry little with me and avoid any weight hence smaller bags suit me better. Sadly those seem to be the most in demand.

Anyway my wait is killing me and I'm dying to get my hands on at least one bag to tide me over while I wait. I am now so tempted to go the reseller route but because I never considered it before (my paranoia drives me anxious over potential scams/fakes), I'm not sure where to go for a brand new k25 in the resale market. Any leads please?

This won't stop my wait and relationship with Hermes, fyi. It's just a... Impatient 'tide me over' solution. Plus my SA implies the k25 is not something easy for us in this store (think demand is especially higher and we are 'newer' young clients) so I think I can pardon myself getting a k25 reseller route and other bags H route.

Not sure if we can swing a trip to Europe this year but if we do, I'll definitely try so this also cofuses me. Should I just go to Europe and try my luck there before a reseller route? I seem to read a lot of people with luck in either France or Italy for their desired bags!

Any advice appreciated.

Fortunately (or unfortunately for my bank account), my home store is on the way home from work and also not too far from where I live. I think I end up dropping by 1-2x a month. I don’t always buy something but most of the time I do find one or more items I like and purchase. In between those times, I will email my SA if I find other products I’m interested in and ask her to keep a look out for me. However, if I had to fly out of state to my home store I think it would be much more difficult to constantly buy. I would think it’s understandable that U aren’t able to purchase as frequently given ur distance from the store. Can ur SA ship items to you? How long can he/she hold items for u until u are able to fly in?

I’m totally new here, but if I were you, I’d pursue both fronts simultaneously. I’d regularly check reliable resale sites and keep in contact with your SA. Would it make a difference if you made your smaller purchases one or two items at a time but more often, so your presence is more visible and memorable? Like I said, I am speaking as a novice so this may be a crazy suggestion.

Thank you Diane! I've thought about that but actually a bit hard for us as my DH and I have a rigorous schedule between work, life and family. I actually have been itching to visit the store asap but could not because of juggling life.

It doesn't help that H closes early (6 pm) and is closed on Sundays!!! My problem is a first world problem in fact I've asked DH to come by around lunch to pick up items for me since his work is a bit closer than mine but even that is a pain for him. If only the could be open until 9pm then life would be great haha

She can but I haven’t found many items that I want at the moment so just wondering if a small 3-4 month hiatus would do me any harm in that SA to client relationship? Of course if I find something I want I email her and she sends it. I know I will want another quota bag but not for another year.

How long have you been shopping or with your SA? If you need a bag now, maybe could you just ask your SA what the real wait time is, and explain you need a bag to fill a certain gap? Are you open to a GP30? That might do in the meantime as it’s small too - or you see if the timeframe she gives you for the bag you really want seems reasonable. People seem to get lucky in Paris, however I think it’s harder if you want exact specs.

Admittedly it’s been only six months but I think my impatience is coming more from our SA telling is a K25 is almost impossible but a K28 they can get for us. I really want a K25 as I’m petite and a B25 as well. I will eventually want a k28 too.

Was thinking indeed of going to Paris, South of France (which I think is a franchise) or Italy to try and get lucky. In terms of color — I’m not even that picky because this will be the first bag to tide me over while I patiently wait for other bags in my particular colors. The only thing I want is gold or rose gold hardware. For colors the blues, grays and blacks all appeal to me and so does the deep wine reds (I have not been keeping track of color names) and the violets. I prefer to get a neutral first (black gray blue are my neutrals) since I read those are easier to get than the desirable collectible colors.

What do you guys think? Should I try in Paris/Nice/Italy?

It really is though, if u want a bag u need to spend, and not just any amount it hs to be above the price of the bag you want(unless ur buying 10 of the same items then they’ll know ur a reseller). The only exception to this rule is buying in paris and japan where u dont need to buy anything before u get offered a bag.

What if I’ve spent the amount of two bags in the first six months? Would I still need to spend another 10k second semester?

Depends on ur store. At my store once u r offered and purchase a quota bag, ur purchase balance resets to zero basically and u have to start from scratch even if u spent way more than the price of one quota bag. Maybe there could be exceptions?

Ok. So it restarts from the time you get your quota bag? For some reason I assumed it would restart in July.

There’s not a set rule everywhere - at every store. Some markets and stores have a lot more competition and purchase expectations than others. Many stores just look at your general purchase history and consistent brand interest - they don’t narrow it down to a quota bag shopping reset in a certain month. A lot of members shop more in the beginning, buy a bit less later on, but are still offered quota bags. And I think a lot of members have said that once you get your first bag it’s easier to get your next ones. Just make sure your SA knows what you’re looking for, and just buy what you want to buy anyway.
