Made in Italy vs Made in France vs Made in Spain

I have 2 black medium classic flaps both in caviar, one made in France and the other made in Italy. I prefer the one made in Italy as the finish is darker and shinier while the one made in France looks dull. The quilts on the one made in Italy are also more puffy.

The one with SHW on the left is made in France while the one with GHW on the right is made in Italy.

I am looking to buy a new Chanel classic flap bag for my cousin but just came to notice that some are manufactured in Italy, while some are in France. Is there any difference? Or a particular style is manufactured in France? Will it be the case that the same style can be manufactured in France and Italy (so it is a matter of random drawing)? Thanks....

if you look at this threads members have posted m/l classic flaps both made in italy and france. There's a comparison just above your post from quertyz. So i'm not sure if one would say all m/l classic flaps are made in france

made in italy flaps, wocs and gsts have been puffier and made in france flaps have been dull and dry in recent seasons. There are multiple discussions on the threads already

I feel made in Spain is between made in France and Italy.

Meaning not as puffy as made in Italy but not as flat and dull as made in France

Iwant to ask your opinion for made in Spain products. I just recently got the travel wallet and found it made in Spain...I know the quality should be as good, but some part of me is not happy with it. I tried to ask my SA and she said all caviar SLG are from Spain. Just felt after spending a lot of money amd the wallet isn't from France or Italy. What is your opinion on made in Spain?

I wish I have the bags for comparison pics. All the red lambskin wocs I have seen this past month, I feel those made in France are nicer in lamb vs made in Italy. It may just be those batches? I haven't seen enough to tell definitely.

Interestingly all my lamb pieces are made in France so I've not seen any made in Italy lambis! Though I do feel my 15K pink lamb feels not as soft as my 15S pink chevron mini

After using my woc for awhile I hadn't actually noticed how flat the puffs are... And when I checked its made in France. Compared to my ocases which are glossy and soooo puffy, which were made in Italy the difference is immense. I won't be looking to add anymore "made in France " items to my collection

When I spoke with CHANEL employees in Paris, that's what they said. The classic m/l bags are all made in France. Perhaps that is no longer the case with the US or international market.

I went back to check at my lamb pieces after reading your comment. Only the 15B pink lamb ghw is made in Italy.

My 15S pink chevron mini is made in France and also the 14S turquoise lamb jumbo I sold was also made in France. They are all buttery soft while I felt the 15B lamb mini is soft but not as soft.

None of them had scratches though.

No difference in value, as for quality you said yourself the bag is perfect. The Jumbo's have primarily been made in Italy for a long time now. M/L's are all MIF.


If you are looking new, I'd say you are going to run into mostly if not all MII. Pre-loved - you will find MIF, especially if you go back a few years.

I believe the jumbos are made in Italy. I've got medium size flaps - made in France and a jumbo - made in Italy. The quality looks the same to me.

Mine is a couple years old and also made in Italy. She is just as nicely made as any of my made in France bags.

I don't know about jumbos but m/l could be both MIF or MII. I was on a hunt for MII for a while so I'm pretty sure about that

Quality for MIF has been going down in recent years so MII is actually better IMO
