Or bottom not glued down

Hi Calfu

Iwant to ask your opinion for made in Spain products. I just recently got the travel wallet and found it made in Spain...I know the quality should be as good, but some part of me is not happy with it. I tried to ask my SA and she said all caviar SLG are from Spain. Just felt after spending a lot of money amd the wallet isn't from France or Italy. What is your opinion on made in Spain?

Now these days from what I have seen online most of the Chanel bags/WOC are made in Italy which is why I was surprised when I got my classic flap from BG that was Made in France. This is my first MIF Chanel bag, the caviar is really gorgeous dark black and shiny, it smells wonderful! I guess I lucked out with mine.
Your classic flap does look lustrous and super dark!:loveeyes::loveeyes: The family portrait still stands out in my mind. That's how much I love it. Wish all chanel classic flaps looked like yours.

Hmmm, I personally prefer made in France, but I don't have a valid reason other than I want it to say MIF.

My M/L I bought last summer is Made in France, my mini is Made in Italy and my WOC (purchased in Fall 2013) is MIF. Recent SLG purchases are Made in Spain (one is Made in Italy).

All my chanel bags are made in Italy except le boy (in France). I didn't notice any quality issues of le boy. But I do notice that the puffiness of all my flap bag made in Italy are way better than le boy made in France.

Thanks my dear friend ;) I do love my Chanel collection. I have decided to get the Boy bag in Navy. Oh and I didn't go for that burgundy boy bag I was thinking about getting it couple of weeks ago, I felt the style was too edgy for me.

I was supposed to get a leboy made in F in caviar at first but then I saw cracking & open stitche at left corner, underneath the flap where they connect the flap & body of bag. Second bag arrived, same issue & it was also MIF. So I had to end up getting diff. color & leather but made in Italy & she is perfect!
My woc made in France is matte, dull caviar & not shiny compared to my PST made in Italy. I noticed lots of bags made in France seem to have issues at corners where they connect flap & body-cracking/open-not sealed up well..
My little card case is made in Spain & she is so perfect..so I start to care more on quality & how bags look not from where they are made anymore.

Oh that's too bad you had to go through all that trouble with the caviar bag :( I was looking for the boy bag in caviar but I was told by my SA that the new ones are not available, so I decided to go for the calf leather.

I am glad you've found made is Spain with better quality. I don't know if only small leather goods are made in Spain but it would bother me if I am spending over 5K for a bag that wasn't even made in Italy or France because I would think that is where the labor and material costs are high. I still don't think their high prices are justified but oh well...we gotta do it for the love of Chanel:D So yeah, I am okay with small leather items MIS but not for a bag that comes with high price tag. Also, IMPO it would be easier to resell your Chanel if it was MII/MIF vs. MIS ;)

I hear you. Yes, I'd prefer made in France or made in Italy for big bags too. For SLG I don't mind as long as they look perfect [emoji4]

I have 2 black medium classic flaps both in caviar, one made in France and the other made in Italy. I prefer the one made in Italy as the finish is darker and shinier while the one made in France looks dull. The quilts on the one made in Italy are also more puffy.

The one with SHW on the left is made in France while the one with GHW on the right is made in Italy.

I am looking to buy a new Chanel classic flap bag for my cousin but just came to notice that some are manufactured in Italy, while some are in France. Is there any difference? Or a particular style is manufactured in France? Will it be the case that the same style can be manufactured in France and Italy (so it is a matter of random drawing)? Thanks....

All the m/l classic flap (double ) style are made in France, in the same factory. The quantities are relatively small and Chanel run a tight ship with quality control. Other (seasonal) styles may be made in Italy and it doesn't mean the quality is not as good, it's just different requirements.

If you look at this threads members have posted m/l classic flaps both made in Italy and France. There's a comparison just above your post from quertyz. So I'm not sure if one would say all m/l classic flaps are made in France

Made in Italy flaps, wocs and GSTs have been puffier and made in France flaps have been dull and dry in recent seasons. There are multiple discussions on the threads already
