The first time I bought from COACH I got a nice letter from the Sales Associate that I bought the bag from. When I have bought items from Louis Vuitton, I did not receieve thank you letters. Though the new LV store just opened in Natick and I live about 15 minutes from there, so maybe I will get close with some of the SAs. The manager and I had a good time yesterday talking, he's very nice. :) He even told me what bags would look good on me... so maybe in the near future I will start to see some letters and what not.

I just purchased an agenda and a speedy at my local LV store and also got a thank you card. Unfortunately I cannot read the signature of the person who sent me the card. Think this is a pity as I was really surprised and pleased by this nice gesture. Would be just nice to give back a thank you...

About the VIC / VIP status: I think I would just enjoy being invited to events because you get to have a first look at new items which is interesting. I also love fashion shows. I do not neccessary need give aways, as most are useless items anyway (at least for me. E.g. I do not use bookmarks as they fall out easily (always use post-it-like bookmarks) and e.g. the paperweights are really nice, but would only collect dust in my apartement...). I would be happy with a courteous treatment or maybe help in getting limited stuff. Best would be some discount prices, but I guess that would never happen... :sweatdrop:

Hello Everyone,

I was just curious, how much would one need to spend in order to become a VIC member? Is it cumulative? Or is it a set dollar amount that needs to be spent annually? I have about 25 pieces of LV and was curious as to why I have not yet qualified.

Thank you in advance for any input!

I don't think is has anything to do with how much you spend. I think you just have to set up a relationship with a SA in the store. I think I am right... Am I right????

Thank you for the answer! Now it all makes sense because I buy my LV's from all over the world. No one set SA that deals with me on a regular basis.

I deal with only two SA's (one here...one in FL)...but I have one main one. Regardless of what I want.. I will only buy big ticket items from them. Small things like sunglasses, or scarves I will buy from other stores if I am traveling.

I never purchase LV online or eBay.

Oh yes, I totally agree. I don't trust buying from ebay and I like to be at the boutique to actually touch and feel the products I am buying. My husband and I travel extensively and I always love bringing home a LV purchase as a souvenir :-)

i think its a bit of both the relationship and showing a willingness to spend some money. there are certain people who are always in the store and NEVER buy. sa's know those folks and are friendly, but they certainly wont get on a list for a LE bag. the sa may tell them they are on the list- but in real life, not so much. also keep in mind the market. being a vic in LA or NY is prolly more of a feat than becoming one in a smaller market.

The general consensus on this forum seems to be that it depends on your relationship with your SA - granted that you've spent some $$ with them too.

To tPFers who are VICs, how did you know when you became a VIC? Is it when you get an ultra-exclusive bag? Is it when you're invited to the VIC room? Is it when you receive a VIC gift? Or do you get a VIC badge to wear? (that was a joke)

I knew I had become one when they brought out my WC Speedy and my daughter saw a tag on the bag with my name and VIC in big black letters...since then I have received one gift....I basically deal with one SA...but the managers are always really helpful...I think when you receive an invitation for the Sac Louis...then you REALLY are a VIC....

^^ I agree, Tobydog. I think even amongst VICs, there's different levels of "importance". Getting a Sac Louis is the creme de la creme! Especially here in Australia where only 5 VICs have been had the privilege so far.
