LV QUALITY CONTROL --- WHAT IS GOING ON??

Can't be mad at them if they offered to exchange your item for a store credit. That means you would have used your wallet for free for 18 months. That's good customer service in my opinion. If I were you, I would have definitely accepted the store credit.

Losing my limited edition piece just didn't seem like a fair trade considering I won't be buying anything else from them...Just my personal feeling on the situation. I didn't want to lose over $500 and a wallet.

Don't take simple questions and turn it to something you assume .I have been in this forum for quite a while though I was not active for sometime .Mostly was in Hermes forum .Did not encounter such rudeness there .
I didn't think the response was rude. They offered to help you research in case you weren't sure. I think it is out of frustration that the same topics and questions are constantly brought up as new topics because people don't want to do research.

I don't have an issue ,just finding the issue others have .
Issues on items could be such a variety of things. You can't pinpoint it to where the item was made..I've been buying LV for many years and rarely have an issue with my items....you can have people with issues on every type of item..I just bought the reverse pm and there are threads about bad quality and issues. I love the bag, received it today and plan on using it. If an issue happens I hope LV will take care if it.

How exactly would you be losing anything if they are giving you a full credit? I feel like sometimes some people are never happy no matter what. Who else would be offered the full price paid on an item they used everyday for 18 months and still gave the gall to rant about the service? Welcome to the entitled LV world.

I haven't had any quality issues so far. I noticed a little peeling on my Clemence wallet but I've had it since the wallet debuted in stores so it's not a big deal. My mom had an issue with her Insolite in the DE being uneven so she exchanged it for another one and that one was perfect.

I think people are entitle everywhere, not just in the LV subforum.

But yes, I concur with your statements.

True & then we would have multiple threads sprouting up all over the place. Like a garden run amok with weeds.

I don't like how your assuming I was rude to my SA....I was not. I'm disappointed in the quality, not what they offered me. It was my decision to keep my wallet, they didn't force me too. I'm not sure where I was misunderstood... I felt as though I would be losing something because my wallet has sentimental value to me. That is why I didn't give it up. Again, not disappointed in how they went about a replacement. I also don't agree that me keeping my wallet thanking my very kind SA and leaving is entitled but I guess it is to other people...

My recent experience led me to believe that LV quality control has completely gone downhill. I think I have to take a break from this brand due to quality control issues and just madness from issues on bags.

I recently went through (August 2017 only):
- 3 defective bags (melting glaze on pochette metis mono and epi neverfull, favorite mm crease in flap)
- 1 year old slg (6 key holder) completely needs reglazing due to multiple cracks
- bought 1 pochette metis empreinte, returned because the embossing is not consistent
- bought another pochette metis empreinte, returned because the pattern is not in the center, and embossing is not consistent
- bought a pallas bb full noir, returned because there is a couple of stitches that punctured the canvas
- bought a popincourt pm navy, returned due to the strap has multiple loose stitches that will come off eventually
- bought an epi cardholder, returned again due to a loose stitch on the back
- bought a porte documment voyage, returned due to unevenly sewn canvas on both sides of the front (multiple puffs and uneven canvas on the front)
- ordered another porte documment voyage, and it arrived today - even worse canvas unevenness!
- want to buy a smart wallet for husband, and the only one in store has BROKEN GLAZING (with the white underneath showing). And they were selling it!
- another smart wallet arrived today, and the gap between the end of the zip to the canvas is abhorring. But at this point I start to think that they are all like this, and since husband did not mind, I think he is just gonna use it.
- bought a monogram eclipse brieftcase explorer for husband. The leather on the front has tiny cracks and a noticeable scratch. Hard to find bag and husband doesn't mind, so we are keeping it but I am not completely happy with it.

Not to mention what I have seen in the store lately:
- pochette metis empreinte: completely not stuffed and actually has the strap in the front pocket. The result? Very wrinkle leather especially at the front.
- Jersey tote: not stuffed properly, especially the corners. The result? Corners are all caved in.

I mean, WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS BRAND? I have not become picker over the year. My standards have always been the same: new items should have no wrinkle, no loose stitch, no punctured canvas, even canvas, and no obvious off-center pattern. I started collecting about 5 years ago. Only 5 years! And during the "early years" I never had to inspect so hard because everything I saw was pretty much perfect! Not to mention the vintage items I have collected over the years - simply impeccable. So again, WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

A lot of the problems I feel stem from how SA's handle the bags and also customers. How the bags are showcased are also a big problem. I saw a few leather bags in the store yesterday that caved and creased quite a bit just from sitting on the shelf. I wouldn't want a damier infini bag that was already creased a lot whilst on display. I feel LV ends up burning a lot bags every year just from carelessness. There's obviously fault from the factories too. Way too play people buying way too many products resulting in sloppy craftsmanship.

Yesterday I went to the boutique and I could not believe my eyes when I saw this very used, probably heavily worn shawl on the shelf presented like a new and in sellable condition. I did not resist to take a picture of it. I was shocked! (And still I am.)
