By "here" do you mean US or in England, after conversion?

I live in Canada, not the US, and it is actually true that some LV is cheaper in Canada than in the US, especially with the US dollar rising (or Canadian dollar slipping...:weird:), people in the US could save at least a few dollars buying LV in Canada (esp. in Alberta where the tax rate is the lowest)

Sorry yes - here being the US. Thanks for the advice about buying in Canada I'll look into it.

This isn't jsut LV, most things in the UK are more expensive than other countries. WE call it Rip-off Britain. It's also the reason why whenever you see a British tourist in USA, they are weighed down with armfuls of shopping bags.

I have just discovered that Louis Vuitton items purchased in Germany cost more than in France,customer services have just explained to me this is because Louis Vuitton items have to be sent to germany from France so income tax is added to the final price.

I discovered this after going online to check the price of the galleria PM in Germany as i will be going to Dusseldorf next month,i then compared it to other countries which sell items in the Euro currency and found the two prices were different.

Germany has one of the highest VAT rates in Europe but if it's like UK it's already added to price not like US were it is added at cash desk but it does mean if you live outside the EU you can get tax back so it's sort of like getting a discount

Interesting info thankyou Addict!..i will be visiting Dusseldorf after departing from the uk as i'm a brit. So unfortunately i will have to pay the full price, i'll just have to appreciate the experience of buying something from Louis Vuitton in another country.;)

I think it's cheaper in Europe countries with Euro (I don't know about LV prices in Czech Republic and Hungary). I found UK the most expensive country in UE for shopping at LV.

I miss time when we were not in EU. Those almost 20% VAT...:push: (here we have 22!)
