I absolutely think LVs are investments - maybe not in returning my $$$ per say - because I plan to use them for years and years vs. spending less money on other brands but buying them more frequently

I never look at LV or any bag as an investment. In fact, I've lost money on bags I've sold in the past.
No handbag is an investment to me.......well maybe its an investment in style 
but that's about it.
but that's about it.
I don't consider it an investment because of the ability to resell. I consider LV an investment because they are timeless and classic. A bag I buy today I can use 5, 10, 15, 20 years from now.
I can't say I would consider my bags investments but can say they are like savings. If I ever get in a crunch and need some cash, I know i can sell a bag.
I think it is an "investment" in the sense that you pay a good chunk of cash for it, but you can use it for a long, long time. So the cost per wear ends up being quite reasonable. And LV doesn't go out of style, so this is one item that actually might be worth the price tag. I know I will be carrying my Speedy forever, and I am sure twenty years from now I will be pulling out my zippy wallet.
