LV and the quality

Well i might be the only one who speaks differently. sure the canvas and vachetta have definetly changed. BUT nothing else. Maybe as i live in Australia BUT we get all our products from spain or france or italy and ebery piece is brand new. We return the overly used pieces back to the France factoey to be burnt. OR ship to US i guess? BUT i have never gotten a return piece like you guys have. I know one or 2 of my items have been used but only slightly. Its very touch and go in the US now. BUT here in AUS LV is popular but still not OVERLY popular. They only have massive shipments of speedy's and neverfuls and staple pieces BUT of everything else is limited. SO i can safely say BOOK A TRIP TO AUS:) haha ull get some what quality LV:p

I live in Europe (my bags are bought in Paris and Vienna and they are all made in France) and still, I heard people having problems with getting used stuff or bad quality. I guess Australia gets better quality bags compared to Europe ;) LV is very popular here and the stores (well, at least the ones I shop in) are always very crowded and I just have a mass production feeling (regardless to quality). But I think the quality is stil good (compared to some other brands, especially Chanel).

How wierd. My dad went to Paris flagship store and had to wait in line. Even though our family r considered VIP's, the door man didn't care.Where as Sydney flagship know exactly who we r. Haha:P Of course Sydney has a lot of People from Asia who buy. BUT only when its the busy time and day. Sat and Sunday lunch time to 3 is the worst. Before and after though it is quiet and perfect. LV for me is still very good top quality. BUT in saying that I do believe that USA is having a massive decline in quality. I heard on here that ALLL LV stores r now going to get the ugly cloth tags. Please say it isn't so!! We dnt get USA bags. We only have to tag in Australia if it is MADE IN AUSTRALIA. Anyway. I feel Absolutely sorry for all you ladies who have received bad LV customer service and practically poor goods. I hope LV pick up their slack in Europe nd US.

Oh no that's terrible! I've never not received a box, but this last order it wasn't tied with the leather tie or ribbon or anything and the bag fell out, it was floating around the shipment box.. and of course also fell out of its way-too-small dustbag LOL. Ugh.

Yikes! I would have been a little upset over that..You wonder what they were thinking when they packed it. Hopefully it was not damaged when you got it...It seems like such a hassle to do a return online instead of returning it to a store...Did you end of keeping the bag?

I really do not know how is the quality on the LV bags made in USA beacuse I have seen those bags on this forum only. I do not like those cloth tags. That really looks awful (well, to me, maybe someone likes that :D). But ladies here are saying that the quality is the same (they own made in USA and made in France bags) and I belive in that beacuse I can not make my own judgement. I do not think it is all quality problem. I never had a bad experience myself but I can see it happen, really. The stores are always sooo crowded, no one has the time to inspect all the bags. I just do not have the "special treatment" feeling. I still like it (it is my favorite brand) but they are making some bags with mistakes (like handles on damier ebene NF or that Emilie wallet with peeling button) and later on they have to deal with returns, etc.

oh my what a disappointing thread! I am abut to make my first LV purchase and now wondering if I should look for pre loved.....If I do still make a new purchase at least I will now be aware to inspect in carefully at the store! Thanks!!

Yes and don't let them try to sell you a display piece. Whatever you purchase, them you want a new one from the back hat has never been handled. Ask for one with the protective papers on handles and hardware. Not saying that those can't be tampered with but it is a safer way to go!

Same here. I only see from the fellow lovely ladies on here about USA bags. So I'm like you when I can only speak for Australia LV. I definitely understand the problems with the Emile wallet. But what's going on with the NF DE handles? Was gunna get one for when I go overseas. But now i might stay away. Might just use my Speedy 46 voyage. Anyway. I really hope LV pick up some slack in the US maybe this new CEO will help a bit? Only time will tell I guess.

The bag was thankfully fine and I did decide to keep her :smile1: yes it's too much of a hassle to return! I think though next time, I'd take the drive into IL. Probably worth it.

The handles are peeling very quickly. You can find many threads about it. Not all DE Nfs have that problem but it is a deal breaker for me :D

Damnn. Well I'm on the same boat. I'd rather not spend 920 dollars on something that might do that. Thanks for the heads up:)

I have a azur speedy 30 and after about two years of wear only in spring summer I noticed the grayish blue boxes near the top were fading and the zipper and hardware were peeling. After about 1 year of wear the edge piping came apart which they replaced no problem. I brought it into the lv store in short hills getting ready to buy a new bag as well as repair this as I considered it a quality issue and the SA literally told me my bag was worn too much and I spilled acetone on it. I wear it still here and there but not as much. I have
never bought lv since. I was in bloomies recently and a SA there had mentioned he'd take a look at it. Not sure if it is even worth the trip as I was so disgusted with the way I was treated the first time around! My handles do have a dark patina but that's due to the fact my palm are ALWAYS a bit clammy (yuck I know). Anyone experience the same issue with the azure???

Omg. I had a zippy coin purse I'm Damier for almost two years and this didn't happen. However I kept my eyes open. I am planning to purchase a zippy wallet maybe this month or in February. I am considering an epi leather in black or blue which has the palladium zipper. I'm hoping it doesn't fade.

this thread is making me hesitant to buy the neverfull bag, i really want it but i don't think i can justify spending all that $$ on a poor quality item. is it possible to get a neverfull bag made in france anywhere still?

Yes you can ask a sales associate at LV to locate one in their inventory or in the LV computer system or buy preloved. Also I'd recommend buying the mono instead if the Damier Ebene. The monogram has the vachetta leather.
