LV and the quality

I personally find this a bit over the top. You have to understand that these bags are all handmade and there's. Certain type of quality control system that they have. The stitching, I can't really tell from the photo what's wrong with it. One of the stitches of the handle of my Mono Speedy has loosened and it doesn't bother me. As for the crease, definitely normal. No bag will be 100% straight, especially when they're hand made!

As for the ZCP, order it online for sure. Don't wait until the price increase!

Huh?

Put down the Koolaid. ;)

Hey all. Long rant here.

I'm super irritated right now. I bought the Zippy Coin Purse and Eva Clutch last week. After coming home, I inspected the items and noticed an issue with the brass hardware on the ZCP...it wasn't flush so it felt like it was scratching my finger when I tried to unzip it. Well, I brought it back to LV and since they didn't have another one, I ended up returning it and they put a reservation for another one. I'm waiting for the call when it comes in but with the upcoming price increase, I'm wondering if I will get that call soon or if I should cancel the reservation and just order it online (it is available online).

Now the 2nd issue is with the clutch. I took it out to use for the first time and I didn't notice it before but today I noticed the stitching where it says "Made in USA" (left side of photo) has a broken stitch. It is supposed to be a double stitch and you can see where the 2nd stitch from the bottom left has broken. Now I'm super irritated because I feel the quality sucks and I'm debating just returning it. Only thing is I've been wanting the Eva and a small wallet for months. Did I just have really bad luck or will this be typical with all future purchases? I hate going back every time to complain about something that should be perfect.

I've also attached two more photos of the right and left side of the bag. It didn't bother me before but now that I found the stitching issue, I want your comments on if this is typical of Eva. If you look at where the bag creases at the bottom, the right and left side creases at slightly different areas so it looks a little lopsided when looking straight-on (for an anal retentive person like me anyway). Comments please! Thanks.

I totally agree that for the prices we pay, everything should be perfect but I have to be honest, I think your Eva is fine and beautiful. If you can't enjoy her, exchange it if it will bother you.

Is this clutch an exception? (http://forum.purseblog.com/louis-vuitton-faqs/pls-help-check-your-speedy-canvas-734567-6.html) and there's many more threads where people keep repeating that they are. Someone's been misinformed, just not sure who, right now :P

Edit: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...ton-bags-made-on-sewing-machines-1982968.html There. How about this? Is this article outdated or something? They use sewing machines for certain parts of the process, but still handcrafted.

OnTopic: I agree with Shoebaglady: if you don't think you'll be happy carrying it, just take it back :)

About the ZCP maybe you should order one online. If the one in the store comes in after the price increase you'll be stuck with paying the higher price. Don't worry about accidentally getting 2 because you can always return one.

Please bring your Eva back right away! The stitching is unacceptable and I understand what you mean by the side creases. Don't be discouraged but I know it's frustrating. Keep us updated please! :hugs:

Thank you for the reply. I will call them tomorrow and I'll let you know! I noticed you just bought an Eva. Does yours have that lopsided issue?

Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned in my post, the lopsidedness didn't bother me until I noticed the stitching coming undone. I'm sure it is double stitched in that area for a particular reason and I don't want more issues down the road so it's the stitching that worries me the most. I've decided to either exchange or return it if they don't have another one on hand.

I couldn't really tell what happened to the stitching (I'm on my iPod), seems like one of those double stitches broke?

Keep us posted on your new one :)

I actually checked before leaving you a comment. The crease on both sides is nearly identical on mine. I can take pictures for you tomorrow if you would like.

Yes, the stitch broke. If you look on a computer, the picture shows up a little better but the right side has the double stitch on the last two stitches but the left side has the last stitch as a double and the one above it should be two but instead there's one and the leftover part of where the 2nd should have been. It is easily missed. I inspected it at the store and even I missed it there because it blends it with the background color.

LV says that its bags are "hand crafted", but wll not reveal to what extent.

I think it all depends on what you think "hand-made" means. When they use sewing machines, I'd still call it hand-made. Hand-stitched, no, hand-made, however is a whole different thing (to me). If the entire process would be automated (so no human being involved), then no.
