Hi there!

I live in Chandler. Which boutique did you exchange your Evora at? I have shopped at both Saks and Scottsdale but prefer Saks.

I usually go to Saks as well and prefer it, but since it was evening and Saks was closed already, I went to Scottsdale to do the exchange. Oh yeah, and Saks also said they couldn't do an exchange on an online purchase because they are not a stand alone store.

I think if you're going through that much trouble for a bag, I don't think it's for you. It's not worth the stress. There is no perfection.
I doubt much of anything is real brass anymore. The Evora doesn't have that much hardwares so I wouldn't worry about it.

That's awful then because the description of several bags on the website, including the Evora, says "golden brass". If it's not brass, that's very deceiving.

They are just using that as a description of the color of the hardware. For instance when they say "silver" for hardware, it's just the color silver, not real silver. When they say gold hardware in descriptions of purses, it doesn't mean real gold. It's just a description of the hardware. Golden brass just means not bright gold, more of an antique brass color. For Instance, the "brass" plates on Eva's and Gallieras will turn eventually, just like the "golden brass" clasps on koala wallets and agendas and other wallets will turn silver colored over time as do zippers, zipper pulls, cles chains and clasps, etc. it's just a description of color. I've had several koala clasps and zippers replaced because they turned. It's expensive because it is considered normal wear and tear, but I still think its worth it because I hate silver turned clasps, especially half silver, half gold. I'm sure they think people are aware in their descriptions that it's a description of the color. I'm sure none of us would expect real silver hardware on an Epi alma for instance, or on a Marc Jacobs Rio satchel, or real gold on an LV charm. It's just explaining what the color looks like. There was a time when they did use some real brass, but it was a very, very long time ago.

This made me chuckle a bit. LV hardware has not been brass for at least 20 years. It's just coated metal. Sand it and you'll have silver metal. Wouldn't recommend this. If you ask a manager, they'll tell you the hardware is just brass colored. It will chip and tarnish over time.

You know, it is funny that the only bag I've put brass polisher on is the one from my mom.lol.I definitely haven't had to brasso my new bags.lol.very interesting.

I took the Tivoli to my local LV today. 2 SAs looked at it and said they have never seen any Tivoli has the same issue. Then they called the repair person out to look at it. He said that it's normal. The leather is not teared or broken. Just creased from normal use. These creases are all above the stitches where the folds are. The repair person said it's the leather stretching from usage. One of the SAs pulled a brand new Tivoli out and we can see that it has faint creases above only one fold. So chances are the creases/marking will happen to that bag once it is used. I really am not sure what to think but the repair person assured me that the leather won't tear. Any Tivoli pm owners out there having same problem??

Anyway, I asked the repair person how to take care of vachetta. He said just use it, don't baby it. Store it outside of dust bag. Once i have a good patina I can use leather conditioner. He didn't recommend a brand but said leather store would sell it. It's the liquid cream color kind. I am guessing it's the LMB type conditioner.

i am really surprised that vachetta can stretch like that. Well, you got the answer from the expert. That's reassuring. If there is anything, you still have the 2 years warranty.

I was very surprised when I saw the vachetta like that above all 4 folds. The other side is even worse. I don't have another Monogram with trims like that so I don't know if it's normal. The marks/creases are pretty obvious when the bag is outside in natural light. The repair person says it's the thickest part because of the folds that's why vachetta stretches. I am just not sure if a $1200 bag should have flaws like that. Anyway, guess there is nothing that can be done. I will just have to stay away from any monogram with trims like that next time.

Thanks.

I've a Tivoli gm and all 4 straps have the same kind of creases on the vachetta as yours. I thought it was normal. I had some issues with the zipper being too stiff and I brought it back to them. They waxed it for me and it's much better now.

Thanks for letting me know. Now I feel better. The zipper was really stiff at first on mine too. It has gotten better since I started using it.

Ive had my tivoli for 1 month and I have not encountered what you have with the vachetta. I would post a pic of this issue in the tivoli clubhouse and see what members think.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will do so. I will take more pics showing the other side as well then post them in the Tivoli Clubhouse.

Thanks again.
