LV and the quality

Yes I have noticed that the zipper on my Thames GM is quite stiff I think it may be because of the scoop design of the bag I think out of all of my LV bags my neverfull GM in azur is the most well made I have used it a fair bit and it still looks new and their are no faults with the bag what so ever and it is made in France.

I recently had an issue with my Eva Clutch in Ebene.
The red lining was bleeding onto all my items (both leather and plastic items). Also the cloth near zipper was fraying. I've only had the purse for 2 months and used it less than 10 times.

With that being said, I personally brought my bag back to the LV store insisting for a repair or a replacement.

1) Quality has definitely decreased. My Eva is made in France however, I feel like LV products are no longer crafted with the same care as before. Materials are also lacking in quality. LV is famous for their signature red lining and it shouldn't be bleeding.

2) Customer service was a nightmare. I've saved up hard for my first LV bag, however, I was definitely discriminated at the store. Since I was young and alone, the SA that was addressing my concerns with my Eva was quick to judge and accuse me of carrying a fake. She didn't ever bother looking at my purse before coming to the conclusion that I was a scam. I refused to continue speaking to her and insisted on speaking to the manager. After a good wait of 10-15 minutes, the manager assisted my concerns. She examined the purse and confirmed it was authentic, but then claimed that it was normal for the red lining on the purse bleed. She also claimed that the cloth near the zipper SHOULD experience wear and tear and fraying was normal.
* IMPORTANT NOTE: STNAD YOUR GROUND! WITH THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR A LOUIS PIECE, YOU DESERVE QUALITY.
Long story short, I had to write down the SA's name along with the managers to file a customer service complaint. Head office was much nicer and apologized for all the troubles they caused me. They arranged for me get my purse exchanged at another LV location. They even took the initiative to inform me that they would look into the customer service issues at that particular flagship store along with the quality control.

I advise everyone to stand their ground if they are experiencing quality issues with their LV products and get it repaired of replaced ASAP. Don't settle for repairs with costs if you know the problem is not your fault.

I went into the store not too long ago and was looking for something to purchase. You cant imagine how hard it was for me to find something that was "up to par" to what the LV quality was in the past.

First i looked at a neverfull and noticed the stitching was totally off, i then looked at a palermo and the leather was damaged (sa took it to the back and said that it was unsellable- whoops lol), and then i looked at a vernis alma and there was dust in the varnish or whatever its called! The leather goods manager picked at it and also said it was unsellable- whoops again.

I did find something else later on but its just crazy!

Hello LV owners....after returning, buying, and selling different damier bags, I ended up back with my original pick, the Evora MM....however....I have a question for you. Now, let me start by admitting I may be pickier than most, BUT I think this is odd. When I reordered Evora from the LV website, I noticed some little dings and nicks on the brass rings attached to the bag's handles, so I took it to the boutique to exchange it. When I showed this to the SA, she said it was "normal wear for the brass." She told me to look at the old LV trunk on display to see the nicks and dings in that hardware. Hmmph....now, I would expect to see wear on hardware on a 100 year old trunk, but on a new Evora? Two of the three bags I compared had these little dings and nicks on the rings. One didn't but that one had other imperfections, so I ended up taking one that had a couple of little dings and nicks on the rings. Evora owners, do any of you notice this on your Evoras? Just doesn't seem right for such an expensive bag. I never noticed this on the rings of my Delightful or Galliera. Just wondering...

I noticed it on my 3 day old speedy as well. It wasn't even on display, he pulled it out of the plastic for me to try on. I admit it bothered me and I'm not super picky, but I know it must be normal if it came out of the plastic like that.

i guess to compare, have you ever seen a cheap bag??

when they "ding" as you say, they turn totally different colors and lose their shine completely.

whereas, with brass, you can always polish it back to new with some brass polisher...and if you are super anal, you can even finely sand it to a ding free condition, which you could never ever do with a cheap bag.

This made me chuckle a bit. LV hardware has not been brass for at least 20 years. It's just coated metal. Sand it and you'll have silver metal. Wouldn't recommend this. If you ask a manager, they'll tell you the hardware is just brass colored. It will chip and tarnish over time.

Really? I have heard this too but she referred to it as "gold brass". I asked specifically if it was brass plated and she said, "no, it's brass."

I bought a Tivoli PM two weeks ago. I haven't been browsing this site for quite a long time. After I bought the Tivoli I came on the site in hope to find some info regarding leather protection. Then I saw this thread a few days ago.....

I was out with friends earlier today. They were looking at my Tivoli and pointed out to me that there are something looking like cracking on a few areas above the stitches. I was not aware of it because I have only used it a handful of times and never really looked very closely at the bag. Can anyone please tell me if it's normal to have little crease/crack like that when the bag is this new? The same creases/cracks happens on the other side of the bag right above the fold as well. Also now i realized that there are these grooves above and below the stitches and they have the red wax stuff all along the grooves. From the picture you can see that some area appears to have just the bare vachetta. I checked the pictures on the Louis Vuitton.com site and it doesn't appear that their picture showed any kind of color in the grooves. Should I take the Tivoli bag back to the LV store?

Thank you.

She was dishonest with you then to sell the bag unfortunately. My close friend is an SA. It's not brass. Just call the 800 number or ask a manager.

Hi there!

I live in Chandler. Which boutique did you exchange your Evora at? I have shopped at both Saks and Scottsdale but prefer Saks.

Yes you should take it back because it is not normal. They should give you a new one
