LV and the quality

I had a problem with my speedy cube mini. One of the letters cracked and it looked like something ripped the letter(it came that way). Since I ordered it from another store I returned it to my local LV..... I also just purchased a Mahina from my local store and didn't take the first one they showed me (brand new not a display model)....... it had brown spots all over it...........all I can say is check the bag before you purchase it........... this sucks bc now I won't order through elux or another store..... can't save tax this way...... but I rather have a perfect bag!

i agreed the quality isnt good compared to last time. there're flaws on every bags if you were to obvious very carefully. flaws such as scratches on the leather/canvas and tarnish hardware. :faint:

Sad :( I've had quality issues with LV too. I bought a French wallet and it had stiching holes in it - like a long line... it looked liked they sewed it in the wrong place, took out the stitching and sewed in the right place.

My SA didn't even let me look at my purchase (he is the manager of the store so I thought he'd be good) and I came home and noticed it. I was so sad! But they replaced it! :)

I'm probably a little slow on the uptake, but what is this takeover business?

Ditto that. Who took over the business?

Wow this is such sad news. I was also reading that some stores have very strict return policies, where a few people were having difficulty returning/exchanging items they found flaws in once at home. Because of course they were the ones who "damaged" it after going home. Oh well. I just keep telling myself "after use it will break down some how anyway," but if we're paying so much, we should really be getting a 100% perfect product to begin with, right?

OH *UPDATE* on my little lock. So I was thinking of going back to the store with it after starting this thread, but before doing that I took a toothpick and started scraping at the dark areas, and guess what?! The dried up gunk started coming out! Then I used a wet Q-tip and got most of the rest out. WOOHOO! But I mean, really, it's brand new, why should I even have to go through that? Argh.

I guess its about the money now and not the quality. I bought a cles about a year and a half ago and the gold hardware has chipped and rubbed off. I showed it to my SA but she said there was nothing she could do.

I have 2 sangle belts, one black, one white,
well, not any more...
I have only used it 3-4 times, and this occured...
I took them back to the store, and they offered me to buy something else,
which I did.

I am so dissapointed with LV. One of my MC bags pockets was yellowing (which is a known defect to them) I bought it years ago but never really used it,i took it out this summer but didn't notice any yellowing until as of earlier this week. I got a call back from the SA saying "we can fix it for 300$ even thoe its a known defect, we only have a 2 year warrrenty"

its like WTF, if its a known defect should they not fix it no mattter how long after that problem shows up??

Im pissed. Officially I am done with LV, The Speedy Cube is my last. Chiao LV and your Grabage ways!

Well, I don't know if I'm just more lucky than you guys or I'm not a ''heavy-user'' as you. I have 5 bags: 2 x keepall, the carryall, shoebag and citadin NM. Both keepall's are more than 2 years old and a being used everyday. The #50 w/strap is being used for a lot of heavy books every day, since I use it as a schoolbag. The other keepall, #45 without strap is being used for swimming, meaning af lot of water and wet clothes. My other bags are used as everyday and therefore had to go through all type of wheather.
I have 5 cles (that's might be 1 too much, but.. whatever :b ), the brazza, simple card holder, Zippy coin purse and trésor wallet. They'r allmost all in use during the week.

As I said at the beginning; this might be a small collection when looking at yours, but: I have NEVER had ANY trouble with my Louis Vuitton. The only thing I have to point a finger at, is - as being mentioned - the gold hardware easily fade and become silver. But I sure have learned to live with that. Else, I can only say a good word for Louis Vuitton. Beside the feeling of a piece of art, when I wear it, I know it wont break suddenly or whatever.

Go Louis V.!

I'm sorry, I meant to say that since it was merged with Moet et Chandon and Hennesey, I've heard that the quality isn't the same. That took place in the 80s. My mother and her friends have LVs from that period that are of better quality. Takeover was probably too strong a word to use.

Despite all this, if I got my hands on a watercolor speedy, I would feel quite happy!

Ahh I see you meant the LVMH consortium

I had to get the zipper on my zipped compact wallet touched up because it turned silver within the first 6 months. Since then I've gone towards Marc Jacobs and Prada for wallets, and like Charleston-mom, I'll only do open-top or flap/snap-close bags.

I received WC bandeau from LV .com with missing stitches on one side, leaving a hole.. I can't believe my eye.... what kinda of workmanship is that!!!! If mine is not the last one, I will definitely exchange it.

I guess we have to be careful when buying from LV... double check the product before you buy if possible...if not, just go ahead return it if it is not in the perfect condition... with the money that we spend (and 4 times price increase each year), I think we deserve a high quality product!!!
