Here is a Getty short video clip of the King and Queen, followed by Jonny, as they walk toward their plane at the conclusion of their visit to France. I don't recall if this has already been posted. My apology for the duplication if it has.

Our brilliant Jonny has made it, once again, into the Court Circular!

I had to do a bit of image manipulation, multiple screen grabs of pertinent information, to cobble all of this together. This information has been posted by Buckingham Palace since the Royal party's return from France.

If you go to this video fast forward to 14.00 you can see several of those Aides named getting on the plane (Including Jonny).

Edited to add: BTW I love how the Military Officer takes his cap off to kiss Sophie goodbye. Such a gentleman!

A few days ago we were talking about Jonny and his role as "Groom of the Robes". I found some interesting information on "Wiki" about the divisions within the Royal Household and have attached it below.

On the left there is the category, "Lords/Ladies-in-Waiting". Jonny's position as "Groom of the Robes" is listed to the right. Now I am wondering about all of these titles. If a woman is the "Mistress of the Robes", is her title "Lady-in-waiting" or "Lady" when she is at work in that capacity? Following on that line of thought, would Jonny carry the title of "Lord-in-Waiting" or "Lord" when he is working as Groom of the Robes, such as during the Coronation.

I also wonder if these appointments are issued various insignia to designate their specific appointments/positions within the Royal household. If they are, I have not seen anything new in the way of insignia popping up on Jonny's uniforms.

I find all of this very interesting but I do not know much about any of it. So, I am tossing this out for everyone to see. Would love to hear your thoughts on all of this!

Here is a very nice short Getty video from the France visit. It shows the media scrum surrounding the King. Jonny, remaining some distance behind the King, avoids the media crowd and escorts the Queen.

May I ask another question: As Groom of the Robes at the coronation, Jonny undresses the King before the Annointing, and then he looks up and says one word to the Arch Bishop. Do you know what Jonny is saying in that moment? I hope you can understand.

I think that Jonny says ' He's yours ', or perhaps just ' Yours '. It's a beautiful photo.

I think the more you read the more confusing it all becomes

He was often near Her Majesty during the visit. I wonder why her Equerry didn’t go. Thankfully Jonny was there even though, at times, he looked very stressed, but supported Their Majesties in his usual highly professional way. I thought the intensity and rudeness of the photographers was not controlled and seemed frightening but it was a great visit.

I was not there so I can only speculate. During the France visit we were able to see so many things on live television. The visits, some of the State Dinner, the awful media crowds, and the unforgivable lack of French police protection.

One can only imagine what was going on behind the scenes that we could not see! Discussions ... tiredness ... meetings ... planning ... conversations with the Palace ... security briefings ... hurried meals ... checking and updating schedules ... getting ready for the next day ... trying to get some bit of sleep. As the King's Equerry, Jonny would be in the midst of all of these things. All the while, at the same time, watching over the King and Queen during each day's public events. Every duty carried out by him in a most impressive manner.

It appeared that our Lieutenant Colonel was forced to push through crowds. Keep his eagle eyes on everything. Move quickly while working with the Royal security team to keep the King and Queen safe in the uncontrolled crowds. Tolerate being hit by cameras. Manage being jostled by the media pack. While in the midst of crowds, physically keeping people away from the King and Queen. There was one live TV scene where he was seen, using his strength, to hold back media from the King.

Considering the conditions under which they were forced to work, the entire Royal party must have been stressed beyond words! I suspect that boarding the plane home may have been one of the most pleasant parts of the entire affair.

Edit: A few words changed.
