Another from today that I don't think has been posted yet. Jonny looking very serious, with the Queen's umbrella and the Diplomatic Bag.View attachment 5862242
It is without doubt the most elaborate uniform in the entire British Army of any Regiment. Head to toe involves so much effort to dress correctly. Even the kilt is adorned with rosettes. It must take a while to get used to putting on all the elements, wearing it and being comfortable, and not being shy of catching everyone's gaze as it is so eye catching, they want to see it up close or get a photo. It's one thing being part of a Regiment carrying out Ceremonial duties where everyone looks the same, or marching together. But being a lone soldier in a city centre like Paris, on duty beside the King & Queen, looking so strikingly conspicuous, it can't be easy and must take some getting used to.

I predict we shall see tartan fabrics and kilts in this season's Couture fashions in Paris by many top designers!

Sorry. :hrmm: My fault not his. Fire away and I promise I will get to what either of us can answer when I can.

I went out to lunch today with some of the local ladies and I haven't had a chance to go back through all the previous posts.
Saving most of my questions for after the France visit and our merry band of Jonny admirers returns to asking questions about Sandhurst, commissions, promotions, transfers, etc., etc., etc., But ... still loads of them for the France trip.

Shhh! We must NOT make comments about Jonny's appetite!

But his slightly chubbier middle and hint of extra chin, evident in the last few days pics, have not gone unnoticed. Luckily he is still rather handsome even carrying a couple of extra pounds. If only the same could be said about me!
And me! It makes Jonny human. So many talk of him like he's a God or "the new James Bond". But he has weaknesses and is human. Bless. No doubt he'll run that off ASAP.:angel:

"Chubbier middle and hint of extra chin"! Ohhh a throwdown challenge !!!
My return is ... Handsomer and more to love

Jonny tucks his chin down towards his neck. Seen that in so many pictures where he is standing at attention, etc. NOT extra chin.
"Would you like my bar of soap"? she sweetly asked.

So after the King & Queen went to the Chanel workshop, the Telegraph says the Tour has been a huge success, the French Press is full of coverage, they admired the seamless way the King went from English to French speaking at the Senate. And that's it for the night apparently. They'll get a chance to rest before travelling to Bordeaux for the Final day tomorrow.

Here's a lovely photo of Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh visiting Paris in 1948, she was pregnant with Charles at the time.

Thank you for the offer. I’ll stick with my rose scented bar…. Instead I’ll take a little sugar in my tea, to sweeten me up.

When I say things like that, I am mainly teasing and it does come from a place of love. That said, I do believe there is a hint of extra roundness to his cheeks since the early summer. Smacking of a little less exercise and a little more indulgence. But I expect he will be back to fighting weight in no time.

And honestly, which one of us would refuse him a second slice of cake!

You are right of course! We all love Jonny and have come together as a nice little group that, as we get closer, are also enjoying a bit of fun and joking. Any one of us would give him the entire cake if he was sitting at our table! :giggle:

I wonder how long it takes to kit up with the entire No1A uniform from head to toe or the mess dress. Of course Jonny would be so proficient at it that he would not even have to think about it and he just does it. But the first few times of trying must take a long time.
