I’ve noticed this as well. I cannot remember any other Equerry working like this and Jonny’s role seems to be changing. He is often seen walking beside The King and seems control what goes on in the background which I never noticed a year ago. But is it because of his uniform he stands out I don’t know but hope he keeps up the good work for a long time. What would The King do without him
I have noticed that Sir Clive seems to have chosen to step out of the camera's view for the most part. When we first began noticing Jonny, Jonny and Sir Clive were always together as a team on camera and Jonny deferred to him. But now Jonny is the one who is up front with the King as Jessie32 said. I do not recall if Sir Clive was on the Germany trip but "Jonny being up front with the King" is new this year. So lovely to see the King doing this for Jonny. I love watching the banter between them when they are on walkabouts.

This is the photograph the Telegraph chose to put at the top of the page covering the Tour to France. Jonny is now the most recognised worldwide of all the King's Aides. I saw a French policeman come up to shake his hand. As Jessie said, front or back, you can't mistake his RRS Uniform. It stands out a mile and is unusual. His stature and height also make Jonny very noticeable, and his demeanour, firm but friendly.

It is a beautiful photo. Jonny has had a momentous year, the places he’s been, the people he’s met is quite unbelievable. I bet sometimes he has to pinch himself to make sure it’s real.

The kilt is so striking and different from all the other military uniforms so even at a distance with a blurry photo I can assume it is Lt. Col. Jonny T. When he eventually moves on to another post, because of the natural rotation of the Equerry position within the armed forces, whoever the next equerry is will not be wearing a kilt. And to my uneducated eye, that will make whoever the next Equerry is harder to spot in crowd shots. I’ll miss seeing him but I’ll also miss seeing that uniform.

Just watched the trip to the Flower Market and Notre Dame. Lots of crowds, of all ages, wanting to meet the King & Queen. So much for Hugh Schofield on BBC News, their Paris Correspondent, claiming last night no-one was interested and the people were tourists. I'm sick of the BBC, I watched their evening news during the Germany Tour, no coverage over 3 days. I watched the Lunchtime News today, no coverage. Apparently the Editor is Danish. She is clueless what the British viewers want to hear about, and the Monarch going abroad is important! :confused1:
