He did look like he was about to dive over the countertop at the cheese booth. Eyes totally fixated on the plate of samples. I remember feeling sorry for him because he looked like he was starving. Those who saw all the coverage from Germany might have noticed how amazingly animated Jonny became at the Food Market... and how suddenly he didn't seem to care about being in the background.
And that is, I think, probably too much said. Luckily I know you all appreciate him for the right reasons, and care about him.
Bed for me, so I am bright eyed and bushy tailed for tomorrow's schedule.
Night all.
He literally had the biggest smileHe did look like he was about to dive over the countertop at the cheese booth. Eyes totally fixated on the plate of samples![]()
Bet there is a cooler stashed away in the van, full of beverages and food. Probably chocolate bars too. Eat on the run and then jump out to catch up with the King. Or maybe he has a backpack stuffed with goodies.I wanted to ask you about that. The Royal Family are notorious for skipping lunch during a day of engagements, though I did see Jonny hand the King a cup of tea in Yorkshire - where else?! - which is tough on the team around him, particularly during the heatwave, they must've struggled. Are they allowed to have a sandwich and flask of tea/coffee in the van in between engagements? I do hope so. Or maybe just water? But then comes the issue of needing the loo.
Hope they were not damaged! He had the Blackcock feathers when he left the plane, but not when he arrived at the Arc de Triomphe.
Why?? I have no idea!!!
My guess would be that as he was travelling in a car, rather than the usual van used in the UK, he took them off as they were too high for the roof. However, I will ask Mr RomeGirl later on if he knows.
This one is swoon-worthy. Yes. Smelling salts please!View attachment 5861508
Looks like Jonny was looking after HM Queen Camilla at the Arc de Triomphe.
The ‘A’ team are certainly all there for their Majesties. Sir Clive Alderton the King’s Principal Private Secretary, Sophie Densham, the Queen’s Private Secretary, Tobyn Andrea, the Communications Secretary and Jack, the Senior RPO.
What I am going to say is fairly strongly worded and is just my humble opinion and is all meant in a positive way as a huge shout out to Jonny for excellence.Definitely. He is doing his job. The part no one usually sees. He can definitely stand up for himself, and get his way. Polite but firm.
Thank you! Jonny seems to be happy!View attachment 5861937

You definitely did not say too much. Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts. What I am going to say is fairly strongly worded and is just my humble opinion and is all meant in a positive way as a huge shout out to Jonny for excellence.
At the Palace and the seating situation we saw Jonny in action. Command presence. His height is intimidating. The visual power of the uniform. The glittering gold and medals on his uniform. The white cross belt and crimson sash. Direct unwavering eye contact. Shoulders squared away and directly facing the staff. Complete situational awareness. All intended to present, even if unconsciously, quite an imposing presence when required. I for one would not want to be on the receiving end of that military/Equerry power if I mucked up something especially at a critical time. Notice the officers he is addressing seem to cower and drop eye contact. It all got sorted at lightning speed and looks like they parted amicably and Jonny would see that they did. As La Rhumba said, Jonny is "soft power". Today Jonny demonstrated "soft power" at its diplomatic best. Classic textbook example of successful high-tension de-escalation situational management. Perfection.
Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. Probably said too much but I'm going to leave it sitting here because it was gobsmacking impressive. My glass is raised![]()
