Lotus vs. Noeud ring

Girl, I am planning to wear mine to my later years at the nursing home parties too!! LOL
There is definitely a spot for both, no doubt about it! Lotus is a very VCA piece. Maybe I'll get it one day but not anytime soon. I love it but I am not in love with it.
Would you think twice if you were to pick up any of the rings, and just wear it on the go?
What are the other pieces in your jewelry collection at the moment? Is this going to be a star baby?
Would this be the only btw ring from VCA? What if it was?

I tend to get pieces that I'd wear everyday, with no hesitation - maybe coz I don't have an elaborate jewelry collection.
Lol! I am now picturing a woman in a nursing home dancing with this ring on.
I would not wear either during the week since I am mostly at work and my profession can not pull off any blingy ring in the office. My engagement set already gets remarks so I can not imagine one of these rings in the office.
On the weekends, I can see myself wearing the noeud during the day, either with my kids, out and about. Whereas the lotus or noeud would work for nights out. With covid those are more limited but my husband and I have been going out most Sat nights.

yes this ring will be a star in my collection. The other other rings I own are my engagement set. My other blingy pieces are my yg clover perlee bangle, my yg pave frivoles earrings and my lapis and diamond bracelet. My other pieces are Alhambra stones. I plan to get the pave vintage earrings in yg and a pave wg earrings (either vca or graf). If I got the noeud I might even get the mop cosmos earrings since I have no other pg pieces. I actually don’t like vca pg but it does not bother me in the noeud ring or the Cosmo earrings.

omg "wrap it up" what i wouldn't give to hear my DH say those words right now!! LOL it is a very special day indeed when he's happy to spend money on jewelry. he is such a bore!!! :crybaby:
My husband’s motto is happy wife is happy life. So if he knows I am into something he just goes with it, assuming my actions are not going to bankrupt us. The amount of times he had to endure shipping at H have conditioned him for any shopping experience.

I have both rings and am in my mid forties. I wear my Noeud ring more often than the lotus. So I’d say go for the Noeud, it is my fav piece amongst all the VCA btf rings I own.
Thanks ShyShy! From my searches I saw your gorgeous collection. Lottery dreams for me!
do you prefer your noeud over lotus or just wear it more?

he doesn't mind shopping, but he isn't so sure i won't bankrupt us.... :graucho:

I do love the Noeud more for its elegance and wearability. I think it is a piece that is timeless. The Lotus is special because of its swivel mechanism that is so quintessentially VCA, but the Noeud’s inspiration comes from couture and the flow of its ribbons mimic the movement of fabric so beautifully that I feel it transcends above just the cutesy bows and ribbons that I see in other brands. I feel the Lotus is more of a collector’s piece. If worn closed it can feel like a huge chunk of bling (which might be the point for certain occasions). When worn open it may feel a little restrictive. The Noeud feels as though it has ‘movement‘ with the slithers of different gold weaving across each other. It feels airy and ethereal. The Noeud is easily my favourite VCA ring.

I agree. The leaves do flow better for the new design.
The stem on the new ring where the leaves attach flows while the the older bamboo looks a little rigid. But then I like the old style’s center better than the new as it showed less metal. So it’s up to what you can get your hands on or if you are comfortable to get an expensive ring on a second hand market. Good luck!

Wow! Thanks, you really captured how I feel about the Noeud after trying on the ring and seeing it in person. Envious you have both!
