LMB Protection question!!! Please help!

I used this on my Montsouris but the last step (I think it was the vachetta protector) darkened my handles quite a bit.
Did you use the pre treat first? It sounds like the newer pre treat has fixed the darkening problem but idk. I just ordered the whole kit so I'm praying it works well!! I want to clean up my delightful and treat my speedy when I get it.
Yes, I followed all the instructions closely. The first two steps were fine. The last step resulted in visibly darker handles. I originally just wanted to have the leather moisturized since it looked like it was getting dry. I didn't proceed with treating the rest of the leather parts because of the darkening.
I have the old kit and (knock on wood) I have never had a problem..

I wonder if there are a "best before date" or something for these kits?
I ordered and got the old kit in July last summer (2012) -- but haven't opened any of the boxes yet.
Do you - or anyone - know(s) if these products are safe to use still?
Or should I order new products?
I don't really know why I didn't use them before, maybe I was a little bit anxious about the result, or maybe just a bit lazy, not sure LOL

Hi everyone! I just want to ask ya'll if you ever tried using the LMB Vachetta protection by itself? I just got mine, just the Vachetta protection (not the kit). Haven't try treating any of my bags yet, it will be my first time. And i am wondering if i can use it (Vachetta protection) even without the soil release & conditioner? Does anybody tried this on their Louis? Just the vachetta protection? And how did it turn out? Thanks again for all your input!
I have the LV kit which includes the protection, cleanser and soil release. After using the protection the vachetta had a matte look to it but once I put the conditioner it was supple and smooth again. Hope that helps

Darn, I was hoping you knew, I'm sure if I mail her and ask she says I will have to order some more, and frankly I am quite sure I can still use it, I'm just so OCD about my bags.. but I think I will try on a bottom piece like on my Galliera, it wouldn't hurt.
But are you all emptying all the cans in half a year? No one has ever had some products left after 6-7 months??

Wait!!! I had my cream for about 1 year and used it on my Retiro. The cream left white lines on the vachetta. It was the protection cream.... Just ask her before using it. I don't think she will tell you to buy another if you don't have too.
