Lizard in Aizome Tokomen

I don’t know if it’s just me but this seems so much more matte compared to other lizard I have (which always seem very shiny to me). The leather is still noted as polished lizard on my receipt so I don’t think it’s the leather, wonder if that’s a difference with Aizome!

It does look matte! I wonder what Tokomen means? I searched that Aizome is indigo dyeing.

What a special piece!

Thank you, it’s been a lizard year for me!

Aizome is a Japanese dying technique with dye from plants - I took a photo of the little booklet with how Hermes describes it. (lizard might have been added later after the three leathers listed in this booklet so they didn’t have it in there lol)

Hermes Aizome comes in three shades of blue ranging from light to dark, which iirc are achieved by different dying time (the longer the darker). This is the darkest which is Tomekon, and the other two are Hanada and Ai. I saw other bags (B and C) in the the other lighter shades and/or in ostrich and croc as well so I reckon there is a batch going out recently (this whole aizome was first introduced approx 3 years ago I think?). tbh I don’t know if it’s in any way obvious that they are different than the regular blue dyes but it’s definitely beautiful and I loved this one as soon as I saw it.

Just spotted this Violet Lilas in Oasis. Wonder if it'll make it to SLGs and bags?

Do enjoy seeing more lizard items these days in comparison to the past! :girlsigh:

Enjoy this beauty! Please do update in not-too-distant future on how it's held up please. :flowers:

Lizard pieces are truly mesmerizing, especially in vibrant colors! 😍
As a seller admin that specialize in exotic, I often see these gorgeous lizard pieces come and go, but sadly, I've never had the chance to keep one for myself. Lol! Maybe one day! 😂
In my experience, lizard is quite versatile and can be a stunning choice for small accessories like wallets or clutches.
They wear well if cared for properly, avoiding excessive exposure to sunlight and moisture.
i love seeing everyone’s exotic eye candy! 💖✨

@momoc, may I ask how your lizard Tomekon is holding up after a year with wear please? :flowers:
