This always seems to happen to T-base bags!! (where the construction looks like an upside down letter T).. somehow the leather corner is stretched and gets damaged very easily.. :annoyed::annoyed: Wish brands did make corners this way but guess its cheaper...

Yes it does happen with designs like this but it shouldn’t happen in that short time. Unacceptable.

Yes ..I totally agree..I wish I had researched the Linjer brand more before my purchases..from what I have read, a good percentage of customers are NOT happy. People have had problems with their watches too. Many have stated that they don't even get an answer from customer service and that refunds are difficult to get, if at all. Their return policy states $15 will be charged for a return.
I returned the Tulip bag and they would not pay anything. It cost me $68 to return to Hongkong!!..Lesson learned.
Never again..I think the owners could care less about their customers.
Be careful if you order anything from them.

I'm really disappointed and feel cheated with my soft tote I bought. I saw their kickstarter compaign previously and their products were made in italy. Not realizing their production has changed, their bag came with a "made in china" tag.
I'm considering returning the bag. I emailed about returns and no reply from them! That's terrible after sales service!
Did anyone else experience the same? Anyone successfully returned a bag?
I bought the soft tote too and after 6 weeks the color is coming off all 4 corners..Did you ever get a response?..I hope you were able to return the tote. I am going to start emailing them about returning mine..I did return the Tulip bag to them, but the only way they would give me a refund ($525) is if I paid for the shipping. Little did I know it would cost me $68 to return to Hongkong.

Hi..I just purchased the same Chestnut tote from Linjer and I am super disappointed. After only 6 weeks, the color is coming off all 4 corners..this just shouldn't be. I have never had this happen before esp. after such a short time span. They are very hard to get a reply from..Really want to return for a refund but from what I have read, their customer service stinks View attachment 4289937 View attachment 4289938
This is normal tear and wear on soft leather since the bag has no feet.

does anyone have more updates on the quality of their products?

I just ordered the new release of the doctor's bag. It looks perfect in the stock photos, very high quality. But these recent reviews are so negative

I'm disappointed to read about the decline in quality and the bad customer service. I frankly don't care about where their bags are made so long as their leather and hardware quality and their workmanship are up to standard.

Disappointing to hear that customer service is bad too...

I purchased a Linjer tote based on the "story", and totally regret it. The color is already coming off the bottom corners of my chesnut tote after less than six weeks. Linjer says that this discoloration is normal, which I find ludicrous. The bag is cheap and not worth the price.
Same exact thing happened to me.
I ordered the Chestnut tote and like you after 6 weeks color is coming off all four corners. I also got the same response from Linjer!..Ladies, buyer beware !

Review of Linjer The Doctor's Bag (navy) and The Sling Bag (chestnut)

I bought mine direct from their website www.linjer.co since their indiegogo campaign was over. Delivery was very speedy and I received the goods in a few working days. As others have mentioned, the packaging was elegant.

I love both the designs!! Would have very much preferred Champaigne instead of Navy for the Doctor's bag, and Tan instead of Chestnut for the Sling Bag, but well, those were the options available.

The leather looks good and the stitching is high quality, though not perfect after checking the bags all around.

As 1 previous reviewer has commented, the Doctor's Bag has definitely shrunk! It is way smaller than I expected. I had ordered it based on the pictures I had seen on various sites on the internet, including on this forum and thread, and was willing to pay the price, expecting to be able to use it for work. But the current size is too small for this purpose. It is probably my mistake too for neglecting to check the measurements (stated on the item page), and for assuming it to be the same as the previous batches featured on various blogs. Future buyers do take note of this!!

It definitely will not take a regular 8 inch tablet. A mini tablet, maybe. I was really bummed by this. If you are like me, who carry more than the bare essentials for work, the current Doctor's bag will need to be complemented with a tote bag.

The tightness of the frame which made it difficult to open (as posted by various reviewers) has been improved, I assume due to feedback and returns. I have no problem opening the bag at all.

The color of the Doctor's Bag is not so much Navy Blue as a dark Teal-Blue. It is also duller than what is shown in the pictures on Linjer's online shop.

I still love the design though! It's sooo adorable and yet has so much character. It looks great hand-carried, slung on the shoulder to one side, or flunk cross-body to the back! (if you don't worry about pickpockets)

The Sling Bag is lovely too. I'm not a big fan of the Chestnut color, but I love the tear-drop shape. And it's just the right size for a fuss-free, casual day out.

Ok. Now on to the Biggest Disappointment I have about Linjer :

For bags that cost hundreds of dollars (US$345 for The Doctor's Bag; US$245 for The Sling Bag), and especially when Linjer prides itself as using, I quote, "the same material used by Europe's most prestigious luxury houses", "to create minimalist, high quality products", the hardware, namely the push lock, the swivel snap hooks, the buckles, are all shockingly low-quality and downright appaling!!! From the moment I unwrapped the bags, I was simultaneously thrilled by the beauty of the designs... the "high quality, luxury house-level leather"... and whammed by the discount bin handbag-quality hardware. They are the kind of cheap, plasticky locks, buckles, and snaps you see on pvc handbags that typically cost tens of dollars. Such a jarring combination. What were the manufacturers thinking of??!!

I am not sure if snap hooks of such low-quality will not break, in time, from the swivelling and the weight of a stuffed bag.

Granted, Linjer brands itself as using top-quality leather yet "without the luxury markup". One may reason that less markup means less profit, thus, something has to give, right? Come on, if profit margin is the issue here, I am certain fans of Linjer would not mind paying a few dollars more to exchange the plasticky hardware on their beautiful Linjer bags for decent, high-end hardware worthy of "top quality Italian leather". I have never, ever, seen such hideous, substandard hardware in any bag of mid-priced brands which cost a few hundred dollars.

Would anyone who have purchased their bags from the Indiegogo's campaigns care to chime in as to whether they used to use higher quality hardware? I wonder if it's an issue of the designer's oversight, or that of the manufacturer cutting corners?

In conclusion:
It is obvious that Design is Linjer's strong suit.

Linjer has to get this:

What is the point of using quality Italian leather when the snaps and locks are rubbish?

The dubious quality of the hardware not only dents customers' confidence in the brand, it also makes us wonder: if the company has to save on little things like the hardware, is the leather truly of such top-quality as is claimed?

Hi Mimi, any updates on how the Doctors bag is holding up? Would be great to hear, especially on the hardware!

I just got my doctor’s bag. Very nice leather, although there was noticeable veining (I’m not too fussed about this but I know some people on this forum are)

But to echo one of the other reviewers, the hardware is ****. My sister, who isn’t that into bags, examined it for 3 seconds and said “great leather, ****ty hardware”. And I hadn’t given her my opinion yet

I’m a bit disappointed with Linjer because for $325 they could make the hardware ALOT better. It feels like it might break with regular usage.

Also, the price has increased from when they first released the bag, and the size has shrunk significantly. I like the smaller size but given that they are using less materials and charging more, they ought to use better hardware.

It’s a lovely little bag and it’s been heavily promoted on purseblog, but they need to step up the quality of the hardware and offer existing purchasers a warranty on the ****ty hardware before i’ll recommend that anyone purchase one

F895E6E6-A4FD-49A8-84AC-0CEDCCDC0B7D.jpeg I’ve had this bag for about a month now. It’s been used daily for about 3 weeks only.
It has to go through about 30 minutes of pretty light public transport on Monday to Friday, most of which is spent on my lap. Other than that it just sits on my desk in my office.

And the leather has a nick where the “white” part is showing already. The corners are still fine at the moment, probably because they have feet. Sure, it’s not a huge area that’s affected, but this after just 3 weeks of light usage? Seriously... and it’s not like I don’t baby this

I just find this very disappointing

Hi Guys:
I can confirm they are making their bags in China. You can read all about Linjer's move from US - Italy and then to Hong Kong and if you read their website they even say the leather is different now ... made to be more scratch resistant which if you know great Italian leather...scratches beautifully :)

I really love Italian leather and got lucky and found a company who has amazing vintage soft italian leather and bags under 300 !! BUT I don't know if we can post it because of SPAM and I don't want to do that but would love to review it and add pics - can I do that on Purse Forum? Thanks ladies!

I found out about Linjer back in 2016. I did a bunch of research and when I finally was ready to buy, the Doctor bag was not available. They discontinued it due to the uneasy opening mechanism. Later, in the spring of 2017, they introduced the Tulip bag, and I added myself to the wait list. After waiting for a good part of a year, I finally got the notification that the bag was ready to be purchased. I paid the $425 because of the special promotion (so this price point acted as a final sale). The bag arrived a few weeks later. It came from Hong Kong, which surprised me because I didn't know it was made in China. It was beautifully packaged: it came inside a sturdy white box with Linjer on the lid; included a dust bag, and the bag itself was a "meh". It was much bigger and boxier than I expected, and very stiff. The strap was very long for my petite frame. I was disappointed and I couldn't return it and I didn't want to re-sell it because I waited so long for the bag.

I have the same assessment of the bag as others on this thread. It's stiff, it doesn't close, and the linen lining is glued onto the leather, not stitched onto the leather. When I was inspecting the bag, I can feel the glue on the backing of the linen where the two pieces of leather meet together in a "v" shape. The linen doesn't align with the circumference of the interior bag, so whenever the two pieces of leather meet up in the "v" area, there is a coin size gap where you can feel the glue. I think the bag shape is creative, but the construction is underwhelming. Since I've had this bag for over a year maybe they have updated the construction? They added a limited color option to this bag which is selling $825 so I would hope the construction is better now.

Overall, I've used it a handful of times. PerhapsAs for the long strap, I researched PurseForum and saw that Graciecreamy folded the straps and I thought that was so brilliant! So I folded the strap and never carried it as a cross body again! When I am not using the bag, it acts as a storage unit for my small leather goods.
