Lets talk Lanvin

I'm still debating between a Chanel classic flap and the Happy quilted Lanvin, but I noticed that today on the Lanvin site there are two quilted black Happy's that appear to be the same bag. The dimensions are the same, but one is listed as a new arrival and they are priced differently. The new arrival is $1995 and the other one is $2170. Does anyone know if there is actually a difference between the two bags? I just can't figure it out, and I if I decide to get the Lanvin, I don't want to order the wrong one.

I don't know if it's any use to you swezfamily but I just saw that Browns in London have recently received the new season black quilted Happy (in textured calfskin I think) and it might be worth checking the prices to see if Browns are cheaper.

iluvmybags - I'll have to check the site today and see what's currently going on, but like you said, it may be better to just call the Lanvin boutique, especially if they're having problems with the site.

I was told by the Lanvin in Vegas that the Happy quilted partage that we all like went down in price from $2170 to $1995 hence the price discrepancy. So- the price now is $1995 -HTH!

good news ladies! i went to lanvin and they told me that the Happy in the quilted version for the spring summer 2011 will be avaible,with that very same texture, in: CAMEL- BEIGE- MEDIUM BLUE- DARK BROWN -OLD ROSè

Do you think it might be the "Old Rosè"? (they're calling it "Vintage Pink" on the website).

I was also wondering if anyone has any modeling pics of the Amalia Tote? I've been eying this style for a while now, but wonder how it looks when it's carried -- does it look too much like a tote, or does it carry more like a hobo or a larger, deeper shoulder bag?

My second goodie came in a pretty blue Lanvin box -- I love their boxes almost as their bags!!

I followed my heart and decided to swap out my Navy Leopard for the Crinkled Leather Mastic -- as soon as I opened the box and pulled the bag out, I knew I had made the right decision. Don't get me wrong -- I LOVE the Navy Leopard (if my finances would have allowed for it, I would have kept both!), but once I got it and got over the initial excitement of having it, I couldn't get the Mastic one out of my head and kept wishing I had at least SEEN it in person before making my final decision. I also began to think that maybe the Navy Leopard was a little too trendy for a bag like this, which is a bag I want to have forever. I think I may have tired of it after a while. But the Quilted Mastic is definitely not trendy - it's very classic (and classy!) and it's definitely a bag I could see myself carrying today, tomorrow, next week - ten/twenty years from now!

I absolutely, truly LVE it!!
The only thing is -- the SA forgot to remove the security sensor from inside of the bag!! I have to send it back to them so that they can remove it properly. The other thing is, I noticed that the stitching is uneven on the front of the bag (I wonder if this is the same bag that chriseve had & sent back for a new one? #402 - http://forum.purseblog.com/handbags-and-purses/lets-talk-lanvin-371101-27.html#post16567402). Unfortunately, this was their last one so I'll just have to learn to live with it and love it -- flaws and all!!

(she also took all the tags off, which I didn't find that unusual, BUT she didn't include them in the box nor did she send the care tag that comes with most designer bags -- she says she still has them and will send them back with my bag after she removed the sensor)

One last pic -- I hope you can see it -- I LVE the detailing on the turnlock. I don't know what it's made of, but where the Navy Leopard had a tortoise shell turnock, this one is white & black and the white part has got these pretty black "swirls" in it (almost like a marbled affect). I also like that the straps are made of the same kind of leather as the bag whereas the Navy Leopard's straps were patent leather

Lanvin just called me back and they actually just recd a new bag from Paris - never been on display or anything! - so when I send this one back to remove the sensor, instead of sending the same bag back to me, they're sending me the new bag. She said it's perfect -- the stitching is straight and lines up perfectly and the bag doesn't look as if it's been touched. My fingers are crossed. I know it's a gamble. Other than the uneven stitching, this bag is pretty flawless (and the leather is yummy!!), so I hope the new one is just as good if not better!!ush:

I'm sending this one back tomorrow for Saturday delivery and they'll send the new bag out on Saturday so I'll have it on Monday

Congrats!!!!!!!! I have the exact same bag in this exact same color and I ADORE it
I have 3 more Happy bags(08FW embossed goat black MM, 08FW smooth goat black GM with navy grosgrain ribbon trimming, and 09FW laser-cut calf in antique gold) but I think this might be my new favorite...

yes i think that's the color!sometimes they do a bit of confusion but it must be that color! anyway...super congrats for your quilted Mastic Happy!that's a really great bag!i like the navy leopard as well but i feel like it's trendier...while the mastic looks really like a classic bag you're gonna use for the next 20 year!
