I just pulled the trigger on a leopard Happy!!

Although I am happy about my Happy ( :p ) I'm not as excited as I might be because I could only find the Medium size (13 inches wide) and I would have preferred a Small (11 inches).
Oh well. The Medium might be perfect for me - fingers crossed!!

Straight-Laced - Congratulations on your leopard Happy! That is such a cute bag. I've got my heart set on the quilted Happy, but don't live in area where I can see one IRL. I think the perfect size, as I'm wanting to use it as an evening bag, is the one I've seen pictures of Katie Holmes and Reese Witherspoon carrying, but theirs appear to possibly be the smaller size and I've only seen the medium and large available online. I read somewhere that Katie and Reese purchased theirs during the summer, so maybe the small isn't even available anymore. Would you mind posting a modeling pic of your medium Happy and share with us how tall you are?

btw..does anybody know if the happy quilted version is going to be produced also for the spring-summer collection?maybe in other colors? even though it's not listed on the official catalogue on lanvin website...

Unfortunately, my Nordstom's has a seriously lacking handbag dept. The only premium designers they carry in store are Burberry and Marc Jacobs. I'm planning to go to Neiman's this weekend to see if they have the quilted Happy, but I don't remember seeing it there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I will very rarely order a bag online without having seen it IRL first. Part of what makes a handbag purchase special for me is making the trip to the store, feeling the leather, putting my things in it, trying the bag on, etc... It just kills me that I don't live in a city where I have immediate access to all the designers I covet. But, for the first time, I do live in a city that has Hermes. This is good and bad if you KWIM.

do you think your Nordstroms could have one transferred to your store for you to see in person? I know they don't transfer sale merchandise, but I thought they could if the item was still full price

I never knew this. Whenever I inquire about a bag they don't have, they always tell me that they can get it for me, but I've always assumed that meant they can order it for me if I want to buy it. It never occurred to me that they would just get the bag for me to look at, with no obligation to buy it. I will definitely ask about that. Thanks!!

That's the size I'm looking for but Barney's doesn't ship internationally so I have to jump through hoops to get stuff from Barney's - not that that's stopped me in the past!! :graucho:

I LOVE both of the leopards but right now the medium in navy is coming to me from NAP. It should be with me on Monday :D
If I'm not completely happy, especially with it being too big on me, I'll return and start searching again :)

Leopard Happy received!!

It's GORGEOUS :yahoo:

The gold chain gives it just enough bling and Lanvin got the navy leopard print just right. It complements just about everything in my wardrobe - black, greys, military green, denim, red. . . :yes:

The modeling pics on NAP made it look a bit frumpy - it looks sooo much better IRL and I can wear it three ways... cross body, single long shoulder strap and short, doubled up shoulder strap (bear in mind that I'm 5'4'' and about a size 2 - cross body mightn't work for everyone).

I'll take a pic ASAP.

Did you say you got it from NAP? I thought they were sold out of that bag? :confused1: I know that Neimans has it, but I wanted to get it from somewhere where I wouldn't have to pay sales tax -- that's why I'm waiting on the one that Lanvin ordered from Paris. I wish I had seen it on NAP! (do you by any chance have a link?)

ETA: never mind. I just found it on the NAP UK site. I must have had an old link, because the one I had showed that it was no longer available from NAP. Now I have to decide -- order it from NAP where I can save myself $200+ or wait for the one from Lanvin :thinkin:

Check to see if the sizes are different! The one on NAP is the Medium (13 inches wide).
There was a navy leopard Happy on the Lanvin site that was the smaller 11 inch size I think?
If I'd had a choice I would have gone for the smaller size because I like smaller bags and I don't feel secure with bigger bags and chain straps, but my bag is light enough for the chain I think(I hope!).

I did notice that the measurements of the one on NAP were a little bit bigger than the one on Lanvin's website, but I thought that's just a variation of the measurements. I don't think they make this particular bag in a larger/smaller size. if there is a difference, however, I'd actually prefer the larger size to the smaller one, especially if it's more than $200 cheaper.

I just measured mine and it's 11-11.5 inches wide!! I think NAP's measurements must be wrong because it definitely says 13 inches in the bag measurements on NAP :huh:

There's also a smaller one again - almost evening bag size - that was available in some european stores.

BTW it seems that the navy Leopard is back in stock at Lanvin. I have one in my shopping bag and it says I can checkout :shrugs:
