The quilted version has been all over the mags because of the celeb buz and Katie Holmes, Reece Witherspoon, and SJP all have the Happy Quilted in that Taupe color....it is a little bigger than a jumbo-look at the thread and you will see pics of the bag you are interested in...

I think I'll call Barney's tomorrow and ask them to let me know when they get that bag in - I'll need to save up some $$ before I can buy one, so maybe the timing would be better than trying to get one directly from Lanvin right now

Does anyone have an opinion on the leopard print ones? I probably can't get to Nordstroms until Saturday so hopefully I can see it then. The blue leopard looks really pretty, but I'm pretty sure they have the brown leopard one

can these bags hold a generous amount of "stuff" or are they smaller bags, meant to carry the bare minimum? are the quilted and leopard print the same size or is one larger than the other?

It's the MM, GM is the larger size of Happy but it's got a pouch in the front, PM is the smaller size flap, MM is the perfect size right in the middle. The same quilting style also comes in the Happy Pop shoulder and the Mini Pop. Call the Lanvin boutiques, they're super helpful and depending where you live, no tax:)

I called the Nordstroms on Michigan Ave since they carry Lanvin and he said they have the soft leather version in Black and Red and the printed Leopard version. I'll have to get over to the store to see them in person - the leopard sparked some interest, but I really love the quilted and sorta want to hold out for one of those (now, if the quilted was no longer available, I might be swayed by the leopard!)

I think the leopard print is gorgeous, especially in the blue, I can't wait to see some more pics of that bag! The Chevron quilted MM Happy that I have holds a generous amount of things. I would not say they're meant to carry the bare minimum at all! I can fit the following items in there with no problem and the bag never looks oddly stuffed:
sunglasses case--hardcase and pretty bulky
pen
blush
lip gloss
travel size lotion
mascara
smartphone
stuffed french or long wallet
3 sets of keys
mini notepad
travel size motrin
*If I use a smaller wallet I can somehow manage to put a thin paperback in there too.

I'm definitely going to check out the leopard this weekend
I'm going to have start saving my $$ tho cuz I know that I really want one of these bags!! I guess it'll come down to the leopard or the quilted - as of now, I prefer the quilted one but that could change once I've seen the leopard in person (and that one costs a little less too so I could get it sooner!!:graucho:)

I really love the way the Scoop (Roady Flap) looks, but I noticed that the opening seemed a little narrow (I've only seen in it pics - never real life) & wondered if that might be an issue. I think I'd have to find one at a REALLY good price before I took the plunge - it's one of those bags I'd love to own, but don't really feel like I HAVE to find (I have a YSL Roady and that pretty much satisfies my need for that type of bag!)

Now the Lanvin Happy -- that seems like a bag I NEED! I'm actually loving it so much, I'm willing to save my $$ and buy one at reg retail price, which isn't something I usually do unless it's MJ! I'm even thinking that maybe I should sell one of my harder to find MJ bags to help speed along the process!!!

^^iluvmybags: if you're willing to consider other colors, there's a navy version of the quilted happy on Aloha Rag, which i believe offers free shipping to US destinations. also no tax if you're not a hawaii resident. additionally, they have a customer loyalty program that lets you save 3% right off the bat as soon as you sign up (goes up to 5%+ after a certain amount that you purchase from them).

One of my major weaknesses are blue handbags!! Not too long ago, more than half the bags in my collection were some shade of blue!!! I looked at that bag and it took my breath away -- now I'm trying to figure out what I can sell to speed along the savings process!! I want that bag more than ever now!!!

So I saw the Leopard Happy bag today at Nordstroms and absolutely LOVE it!!
The leather is simply amazing. I love how it looks and feels. The details on the chain -- I REALLY need one of these bags now!!

They didn't have the quilted Happy bags, but they did have the Mini Pop in both Black and Brown (which they called "Mastic"). It was hard to tell what a full size bag would look and feel like, but I didn't like the leather on those bags as much as I liked the leather on the Leopard or even the solid colored bags. I wish the quilted ones had been made from the same type of leather. I noticed the "waxy" finish that one of the other members mentioned. (I understand what she meant - the leather wasn't flat or matte, it had a bit of a shine to it almost like a glaze).

I took some pics of the leopard bag -- Guess I have a decision to make.
I fell in love with the Quilted Navy that Aloha Rag has and I still REALLY want that bag, but am wondering if maybe I should go with the leopard instead since I liked that type of leather better. My only concern is that the leopard print may not be as timeless and classic as the quilted navy would be -- I wonder if I would grow tired of the leopard after a while? Or maybe it'll even look dated and out of place

I was also curious -- is the quilted Happy a little bit larger than the Leopard and/or the soft leather ones? According to Barney's website, the Leopard is 8.5 x 11 x 3.5. The soft leather ones are 10 x 11.5 x 3.5 Aloha Rag lists the Quilted Navy as 9 x 11 x 3.5.

Not much of a difference between the Leopard and the Quilted (but there is quite a difference between the soft leather and the other two) - could the bags all be the same size and they each measured differently, or are the quilted bags slightly larger than the Leopard but smaller than the soft leather ones? (darn! I wish I had paid closer attention to the soft leather ones - I didn't try them on or anything and didn't notice if they were larger or not :pout:)

^ Absolutley loving the leopard happy iluvmybags! I've only seen the mini one in that leopard print, the larger size looks delish!

I agree that navy is timeless, but in a way I think leopard print is too - just in a different way. It never really goes out of style (when it's not a screaming print!)

I was actually thinking about the Navy Leopard today and figured that would solve my "problems" (fav color, best leather, all combined into one!), but can't find it anywhere - Lanvin doesn't have it (they only have the brown leopard), NAP is sold out and I don't know who else might carry it -- any suggestions?:shrugs:
