how good is delvaux's after-sales service? i bought a wallet from them in May of this year, and the glazing inside already started cracking. It hasn't even been 6 months (I understand wear and tear...but it hasn't even been half a year?!). I also haven't been using it as often as I usually just use a card case when I am outside/in a hurry. I am concerned that I will be turned away at the store...I plan to go tomorrow together with the authentication card/other docs that I have after purchasing.

I'm quite surprised, honestly.

so anyway, quick update for now. i took it to the store earlier this morning and explained the situation. naturally, the saleslady said that it's natural for it to wear there bec it's a wallet and it's at that point where it keeps getting opened (it's one of those compact ones that fold out). i said sure, maybe after a year or two of use, but it's only been FIVE MONTHS.

i don't expect it to be indestructible, but....five months.

also, for most of that time, it's just been in my bag. i've been super careful with it.

anyway, so she filled out a form and said they'll investigate it first. will take 2 weeks. she said that even if they repaired the glaze, it might still wear out there.

i said maybe, but i still want it repaired

.

A few months back I think I posted here that I was trying to source a second-hand Brillant mini bag in deep purple. I didn't realize that it was such a hard bag/color to source. I got word from the personal shopper saying that they've had leads on some sources but most people don't want to let it go, and Delvaux doesn't have any in their rare archive anymore.

The personal shopper does have a purple Madame iron shield though, so I asked for pictures for that. I think the one thing that might bother me about the Brillant is that it has a tendency for the handle to lean forward/sideways after long periods of use (which I think is its characteristic).

If you are able to wait, Delvaux may produce a deep purple again in the future like they did with the forest/pine greens and dark blues. Nothing is certain. but you never know.

If you like the Madame after seeing the photos, that might fill the deep purple void in the meantime. Personally, I've found that holding out for what I really want gives me the best satisfaction even if the wait is hard.

If you are open to exotics you can just have a purple or your choice made in pretty much any bag / configuration you like from Delvaux: (unfortunately MTO is limited to exotic for now)

That’s how I got my purple bag from them

thanks, you might be right. I think the only thing that might deter me in the future is the prices of new right now. it's hard to justify a $10,000 bag. But I'd be happy if they released it again.

I just recently came into a Delvaux Cool Box Mini in Taurillon Soft Vegetal after waiting 4 months!
I got it directly from the maison in Belgium as I didn't have a maison near me (Until recently after I placed my order ). I basically signed up for the stock notification for the bag on their website, and a SA contacted me to collect the deposit and start the process. When it arrived I paid the balance + shipping and it arrived in 3 days when I was expecting a week or 2. He was very very nice and kind throughout the entire process and I am very happy with the service.
And of course I am absolutely obsessed with the bag. The leather, the craftsmanship, the details. I have many bags from different brands (Some not listed on my signature neither) but nothing really comes close. I can see why it took time, it's really unique.
I'm not that attracted to their other bags though, maybe a Tempete, but Cool Box is unique and didn't cost a fortune, though the price went up in between me ordering mine and when it arrived

so the personal shopper got back to me with pictures of the Madame Iron Shield in gold and purple (google images here: https://www.google.com/search?clien...YBHUAODkEQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=1440&bih=787&dpr=2 ).

it is basically brand new with stickers still on the back. i'm almost tempted to take it and stop my search for a purple brillant, as i understand that the collector of the brillant is reluctant to part with it unless it's for a very steep price (that honestly i'm not ready to pay for a used bag, even though it's rare...).

but still thinking about it.

Vegetal is such a beautiful neutral, congratulations! Hope you only had to pay the price that it was at during the time of ordering.

Here's a question to ponder: If a dark purple mini Brillant popped up after you bought the Madame (at a close to regail price, let'sjust say), would it cause you regret? Would you want to still get the Brillant?

I honestly would want to still get the Brillant, but not at current retail prices, haha. But if it does get re-released, I think it might help drive secondhand prices down (more supply and all).
You're right. I should just turn the Madame down, make an offer on the Brillant and see what the collector says.
