Let's talk Delvaux!

I love love love the felt brilliant. I like the pins too, but I have a toile pin and wouldn't want a smaller one, cute as they are.
ITA, that Brilliant is stunning. I think felted wool is a pretty robust fabric. I wouldn’t want to pour a glass of red wine on it (although I suspect it may be treated in some way to prevent stains) but a bit of rain would be fine.

I just thought I'd post a mini review of my Pin City bag. I wish I new more about this bag prior to purchase - I would have bought it last year had I known how great it is. This is a wonderful bag with the highest quality leather and construction which you'd expect from Delvaux. From the zipper pull and strap attachments, I feel it's meant to be worn over the left shoulder. When worn this way, the bag stays in front...no energy is required to keep it from sliding to your side, which is a pet peeve of mine of other bags of this style. It's leather in the inside too, with card slots. Size-wize, it's great for a compact wallet, iphone (I have the iphone14 plus), car keys. There's a little more room for some extra stuff, but it's a small bag, and despite a gusset, only opens so wide.

All is all, it's amazing at what it does. Small, stylish, functional, and extremely high quality. I should have bought this a year ago, and there are very few alternatives like this on the market. This is my first Delvaux bag, and from this experience, it will not be my last. Pics are below.

It’s also pretty aggressively priced versus the competition which is nice.

Unfortunately no, they had to arrange a CITE certificate and they didn't have it (I was surprised), and import-export taxes for this bag, it was also a complicated story.

That is too bad. I'm also very surprised that they didn't have a CITE certificate on hand! If you've time to share here (or DM) about the import-export taxes, would love to hear it.

Thanks for posting the review, especially since this style is relatively new with not much info on how it actually wears on and functions out-and-about. From your experience, I now have a better sense that not only would it be a good "about town" bag, but would also be a great travel bag that allows you to keep items close to, and in front of, your body. The tan is such a beautiful color under natural sunlight, very rich and warm. If you don't mind, would love to hear a follow up review after some more wear-in time has passed!

Agreed. Quality + style + price point

SUPER happy with my newest Delvaux piece: this iconic miniature Brillant which looks adorable on my Tempête

I initially wanted a miniature Tempête for this bag but was told by the Antwerp store there are no Tempête miniatures in Europe currently! I find they are also very rare on the second hand market, except for a few red or lemon yellow ones –not my colours.

Does anyone own the Brillant Long Wallet Chain? I was wondering what fits in it. TIA!

Don't own but given the dimensions and images, it should easily hold 8 cards, a small set of non bulky keys, cash, and any mobile phone that is under 7" x 4". Am really loving the versatility of the removable strap too.

Delvaux's "Mutualism" Spring/Summer 2024 collection is a collaboration with Belgian artist Kasper Bosman. What do you all think?

Mutualism (n)
(1) The doctrine that mutual dependence is necessary to social well-being.
(2) Mutualism describes the interaction between two or more species where each species has a net benefit: the flower and the bee; algae and coral; Delvaux and the Artist.

Thanks for posting. I'm glad Delvaux continues to push the envelope in terms of style and aesthetics. My preference is simplicity, so busy bags are generally not for me. Most of the bags shown above would get two simultaneous responses from me: (1) wow, impressive, and, (2) not for me. They did have a few more traditional Delvaux bags that I'd like to see in person (that pink cool box looks interesting).

Same, you've captured what my feelings are well. This jacquard Brilliant is interesting though. The tonality is nice:
