Beautiful bag and a gorgeous color! I just love suede bags; I think they’re extra luxe :)

I adore le grand sac but I'm not sure I love the suede flap (not for everyday use). I think I'm going to write them and ask if there is any possibility that it can be made in leather instead.

If anyone is interested, I have just purchased the Grand Sac (larger size) in burgundy for work. I was carrying a huge Cuyana tote before (the classic structured), which was great for schlepping around laptop + gym clothes + lunch + kitchen sink, but was getting too unwieldy for the days I only need essentials + laptop, which is most days. And the open top was a bit annoying.

I'm also VERY particular with work bag needs... I like it to be big enough to carry my laptop as I don't like taking a separate bag. I don't like top handles - I prefer to shoulder carry. And for some reason I don't like cross-body options where the strap attaches to the ends of the bag if that makes sense - like the Prada double zip worn with the long strap. And I don't seem to like any of the usual suspects that people recommend - LV NF, aforementioned Prada, etc - the look of many larger work-appropriate luxury bags just doesn't speak to me enough for the price.

The Grand Sac is perfect for my 14 inch laptop (just baarely squeezes in on the larger strap setting!!!) and still has plenty of room in the front bit for wallet, keys, earphones, phone, lipstick, tissues, etc. The way the folds are structured, the laptop is a bit of a squeeze in the back portion but the front is super roomy! Only downside is that the laptop really sits flush against the back wall of the bag, so that it's kind of hard to get in and out of the back inner zip pocket. An outer back zip or slip pocket would have been handy maybe.

I've been carrying it both with the shoulder strap, and the longer strap cross body. It's very comfortable so far and the quality is great! (on par with the Elegant bag which I bought and reviewed here earlier). Also, the flap isn't too hard to get in and out of - I thought it would annoy me but it's been OK so far. Maybe my only other complaint is the strap is a bit on the thin side so I imagine it could start to hurt - but also it's not such a huge bag that you can really load it up with too much junk. Really just the laptop that weighs it down. The straps also are stitched into the body in a way that I can't see the construction, so I just hope it holds up over time - looks fairly secure but also can't say for sure.

Also I work in professional services and for my work environment, it is the perfect combo of professional-looking, not too flashy, versatile enough to carry out to lunch or after work dinner/drinks, to clients, etc. It woudn't be odd or inappropriate to carry something flashier in my line of work but that's not really my style. This one at least is a bit sleeker than an open mouthed black hole of a tote filled with snacks and gym shoes!!

Happy to post pics later if anyone wants!

Hi celinestorm! I’m currently considering purchasing Le Grand Sac from L&V but have been struggling to find any picture of the bag or mod shots!! I understand you posted about the bag a while back now but was wondering if you could share some pic by any chance?

My concern would be the weight and size of the bag on my frame. I’m quiet petite, only 5”2, so am worried that the bag might drown me!!

I also note that you have the Sac Elegance - do you use this for work too? Or more for casual everyday wear?

Thanks!!

Thinking of getting the Le Sienna. Has anybody bought one? I'm also concerned about its durability. I read a few reviews on Google Map (haha that's all I could find!) and the reviews from a few years back say that the bags are not durable (some stitching coming off, etc).

No problems with durability so far for my Petit Violette. Been using it for some months now. It’s a very well made bag, so far no stitching coming off... and lightweight (No achy shoulders!). I would expect the same quality for their other designs. I’m also eyeing their Sienna bag... in the gray color! Let me know if u decide to buy the Sienna! Would love to hear your review.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't buy it -- well, my husband didn't buy it for me. Maybe when I go to Paris again and see it in real life.

I just received my Petit Violette bucket bag today and was really looking forward to using it. The delivery was super fast ... even though I live in Asia. However when I took the bag out of the box/ packaging, realize the bag has a obvious ugly scratch on the front/ lower front..... Likely due to the way they pack and put the lookbook on top of the bag. They definitely need to package their products better!! Like never put a book with sharp corners that scratch or dent the smooth leather...

Other than that defect, the leather smells great... The petit bucket is smaller than i expected but it’s cute and overall seems really high quality. Even the bucket strap opening was v smooth to tighten or loosen. I am hoping that it will be a good alternative for LV neo noe bb.

Think someone else asked if smooth leather is durable. Well, this one didn’t even survive the shipping process.

I didn’t even get a look book.

FDE20803-FA7B-4C01-9323-05D28CC6CB0E.jpeg My VIolette in grained leather has held up so well; I just love it. I think I need red; I'm about to pull the trigger on the smaller size. I do fill the base of the full size so I hope the red works as a day bag at least.

I personally adore the grained leather; it smells divine and is smooshy and chewy. Just love it.

Edit: And ordered...325 euros shipped to Canada. Just can’t beat the quality for the price. The full-size is so well made and shows no wear. I had a red bag (Polene #1) but ended up giving it to my daughter because I never warmed up to the leather. This is the replacement.

For the ones that got Le Petit Violette -- what can you fit inside?
I love the look but I'm not sure if I should wait for the large version to be back in stock. My main issue is that I carry a book and a water bottle everywhere and I'm not sure if these would fit comfortably in Le Petit Violette... but I also think the large size might be too big for my frame (5"1).

Could you please share a bit on what you carry inside? Input from owners of the large size Violette also appreciated

(Finally made an account here just to post this!)

I think there’s enough space for a bottle and book, plus compact wallet, tissues etc. I can put a book (my son’s), iPad mini and a small bottle in my Petit Violette bag. Here’s a pic. Their website also has a video to show what fits in the bag which is accurate and helpful.

Also the bag is surprisingly light weight and comfortable when I carry it on my shoulder. I’m petite like you so I chose the petit bag instead of the regular size. Hope this helps!
