Great news! My SA recently called me and said "Is there any way you can come in this week? I have "something" you requested for." I knew exactly what it was. it was my Black Birkin 35cm with gold hardware. Unfortunately I declined on the offer because it was my kids birthday, & we were off to Disney for a whole week! I know it's not my last opportunity to be offered my first B, so I wasn't bummed on declining on one. I'm kind of undecided on the type of leather I want. Epsom or Togo?
I love Epsom because it'll keep it's shape, but I've also seen how it looks when it ages. (Not so pretty). I won't be using my B bag every day, & I do baby my bags, they're always in perfect condition. So that's when m Togo comes in handy. I like how Togo is soft & grainy, but I don't want it to be floppy without me using.

So what are your girls or guys opinion??

I think you're so cool to turn down an offer since your know your priorities. Some people would have dropped everything and book the next flight there since their dream dag arrives. May I ask which Vegas store offered you that ? I'm hoping that they have something nice to offer me last time. I was offered a Kelly in Sellier style last month but I declined since I like slouchy style.

As for your question, I think you've already answered it yourself. If you baby your bags and don't like the Epsom, I would go for the Togo. The Togo may be soft but it doesn't become a puddle of water overtime. As long you stuff your bag while you're resting it in the orange box, it should keep its shape for a long time. I hope there is another one for you soon !!

Thanks! I already know I'll be offered it again, my SA said "I'll keep an eye out for you, around the time your planning on visiting. Just call.". I'm not really rushing because, 12k is not little money. I was offered one at the Encore, but I've been a client at that store for about 3 years now & recently had a huge interest in the Birkin. Love the Kelly! I'm not a fan of the slouchy look either.

I'm still kind of confused. I like how Epsom is rigid & rough, & I like how soft to the touch Togo is. I wish I could just switch off leathers on days I feel like choosing the type of leather!

Do you know if those pillows for stuffing bags works? Xx

I'm going to be in Vegas next week for several days and would love any highlights in terms of inventory....particularly CDCs and unusual bags (bicolors, etc.). I am in the mood for an Evelyne and maybe another Kelly :graucho: ...at the very least there will be souvenirs!!

Ok, so now that I got my KDT I am upping my expectations/budget a little for my Vegas trip ... Are all leather Garden Party bags something I may stumble across if I am there in two weeks? :p

A day ago I saw the most beautiful Toolbox ever at the Wynn store. A 26cm in Gris T & Argile Grizzly with permabrass hardware. Breathtaking!!

Lots of Evelynes to be found at all stores...

I have just returned home (canada) from Vegas where I popped into Hermes at Crystals simply to inquire on the process of acquiring a Birkin. I walked up to the SA and started asking her questions. She was very helpful and was more than happy to take all my info and requests in order to let me know when the bag I want is available. She said it usually takes 1-2 years but to continue checking in with her. I have never made an Hermes purchase and walked in carrying a Michael Kors bag (I am a bag lover, not necessarily a brand lover- I own everything from Michael Kors to Chanel) After reading this thread I now think she really doesn't think I will make the purchase and just took my information to appease me. Thoughts? Also, I'm fine with waiting 1-2 years for the bag I want.

for u to get a b or a k u kinda need to build a relationship with the SA and need to make purchases of other stuff other than b or k. or u spend a lot and she offer you one on the spot. or else u will be waiting for longer than a year or two.

On the one hand, it is hard to say for sure whether any given SA really keeps a list of client wants, given the sheer volume of requests they receive. On the other hand, it is actually lovely that she was pleasant and interested and took time to talk with you, when you compare this experience to the dismissive behavior we sometimes hear about. I personally have a great love for Crystals, as I have had wonderful service there, and so I would say, yes, there is a very good chance that you will get a call some day!
