Since when is 40 old!!! Silverfern's picture really puts the bag in perspective. I think it is more of a ribbon flair than a bow appearance. Very classic bag. The ribbon just softens up the harshness of the chain a bit. I say go for it. Love the quilted versions.

ITA with Bebepurse especially the reference to 40.:D
Although my heart yearns for the orange now, I always have allocated a spot for Lanvin bag in the future.

Thank you to everyone for all of your comments and encouragement to buy this beautiful bag! I just needed a little reassurance on this one.

iluvmybags - If you get your bag this weekend, please post pics and modeling shots. Can't wait to see them!

BHmommy - Thanks for the info on the ribbon. I just love the way it makes the bag look so feminine.

Flip88 - I want that Marcie really bad, but I'll probably get the Lanvin first and hope to find the Marcie on sale at the end of the season.

miyake0214 - My heart also yearns for the orange, but I'm sticking to their accessories for now (I can't get enough of their bracelets) and hoping for a Birkin in the next couple of years. I had actually vowed not to buy anymore bags until I got an H bag, but what can I say? I'm a handbag addict. I just can't stop!

I have the Lanvin Happy and have used it quite frequently over the past 3 months - and no, the ribbon hasn't frayed, surprisingly! I also find it surprisingly easy to use - it's the bag I reach for the most.

Hope you get one! :flowers:

The only time I would suggest a bag is "too young" looking is when it comes to a faddish type bag or as someone suggested, a Juicy, which lends to a younger market. This bag can be worn luxuriously over the shoulder of a 65 year old woman as well as a 20 year old woman. I feel the bag is classic and timeless looking! Rock it girl with pride! I think the bag is gorgeous!!

I say go for it! I've just bought the Happy in the Navy Leopard and I think it's such an elegant, classic bag but not boring. I'm 48 and I don't think it's too young at all.

You can remove the charm, you could remove the ribbon (add a new one if it did get frayed) to customise it slightly to your own taste.

Wow I LOVE it quilted, a lot more than the other. GO for quilted, so elegant and brings very nice texture!
I hope the Happy bag isn't too young for a 40-something woman -- that's the bag I plan on buying next and I'm in my mid-40s!! I have fallen head over heels in love with the Happy Bag! I tried it on in the store and to be honest, the ribbon wasn't even that obvious. There's also a quilted version, which I think could be perceived as a little more "mature" than the soft leather version.

What do you all think about the wearability of this bag? Is it a dressier piece that looks better with business attire, or does it look ok casually, too? TIA :smile1:
