I have a new story. I went to my favorite local coffee shop about a month or so ago. I frequent there and grab a coffee there a few days a week. Sometimes I sit with it and get some work done, people watch, etc. Strangely enough this is the same place where many of negative comments about my Hermes items have been made...

Anyway, that day I was carrying my Kelly. I had ordered a coffee and was waiting for it to be made when the line behind me started getting longer. They are a bit slow in that place, but it wasn't as if I was talking to them and making it go slower or changing my order around or anything. I was just waiting for it to be made.

There were two ladies behind me in the line and suddenly I hear one of them loudly say to the other, "I guess we have to wait, it's not like all of us have a Birkin" and something about bags and holding up the line.

It was very strange since it wasn't as if I cut the line or was holding it up in any way other than waiting for my order. And apparently all Hermes bags are Birkins.

Wow.... Still so shocked people would be so rude. Usually when I see a particular bag in person I get excited :) love seeing a particular bag in person and may even tell the person that I think their bag looks amazing. But never say rude things...even when I see people walking around w/ very obvious fakes or brands I'm not too fond of

Old devil that I am, I would have said to the barista "Take your time, I'm in no hurry."

Thank you so much for your support! I truly appreciate all your comments:smile1: I thought maybe I was too sensitive over this bad joke and tried not to be bothered by it. But she knew that I have been trying to have a child. Why did she still say something like that? She is a good friend but she sometimes said something quite passive aggressive. I sometimes said nothing to her. Sometimes I said I has a few nieces or I sometimes told her to buy a few Hermes or Chanel purses herself; they won't be a waste since she has 2 daughters herself. Yes, she mention my death a few times. My husband told me to see good things in others and not focus on their shortcomings or verbal words because people sometimes didn't know what they were saying. It is one of many good advices this lovely man gave to me :smile1::smile1:But I am not that good yet; I sometimes need to rant. Thank you so much for allowing me to vent :)

I am late in this thread, but I would like to chime in. If your friend ever mentions you dying, etc again or having no one to leave your things to...try responding the way the way I respond to people just like her. "They're being buried with me [big smile]." Or "I would rather burn them than give them to you and your daughters.. Hahah, don't you agree? You're so funny!" Or "why would they want my hand me downs?"

Usually the person will laugh. Always, they will never bring up the subject again.

Much love and hugs! Stay strong!!

Shame on them
Rude and country bumpkin

I get the 'is that a cat?' comment about my dog all the time too :( Yes today carrying my Bleu Glacier birkin two women passed me stared at me head to toe and one said to the other 'obviously a fake.' Didnt bother me as whatever they need to do to make themselves feel better. I also suspect its because im one of the rare Londoners who has colored bags (not just black and etain) so they dont realise they even come in so many shades. However the comments on my dog (also jealousy i suspect) KILL MEE!! They hurt my soul!

I'm going to sound like a total cow but I think the response "no, he/she is a baby panda [or insert other unexpected animal type here]" would be hilarious.

Yikes! So sorry that happened! I would've turned around and said "honey, with that kind of rude attitude, you'll be waiting all day.[emoji6][emoji136]"

I do agree. I do not intend this to sound mean, but I am really interested to hear opinions of real bag lovers, who use them every day for a variety of purposes and enjoy them. Making videos for YT takes quite a bit of time (I know because I tried it myself). "Producing" such videos with great frequency is time consuming and becomes more of the end goal rather than actual collecting and enjoying your collection for what it is. You start working for your "audience" more than being true to what you like for yourself.

I agree! I've always wanted to do videos on my handbags and other accessories but I feel like all the time and effort you have to put into it would end up making me tired and preventing me from enjoying the items that I have.

I took my brand new B35 GT with me on an appointment the other day and someone I know pointed at the bag and asked: "Oh, is it a Firkin?" I did not quite understand her, so she "translated": "Firkin is a fake Birkin". I did not quite know whether to laugh or cry!

Guess that tells you something about her ~ she WOULD carry a fricken. Sorry that you had to hear anyone say that about your B.
