I always say I don't remember or I'm not sure when it comes to inquires about prices. My moms favorite answer is to say "it's fake" because only people who ask about authenticity and cost of a bag usually do it with bad intentions. On the other hand, those who are making genuine compliments or showing of appreciation of brand/craftsmanship will just say I love your bag.

So 24 hours after receiving my first B, I have already encountered cattiness. I brought it to work, primarily because I just can't stop staring at it. I showed it to a couple of bag-loving colleagues - we share the love of beautiful leather goods. All except one have been extremely happy for me.

The one who wasn't was pretty shocking. We share a love for fashion, and frequently show-and-tell our new purchases. We travel for work together often, and try and squeeze in an hour of shopping together in between meetings whilst away. So it came as a huge surprise when she flat out turned away and walked out of my office and said she didn't care to see my B. Her response was - and I quote - "Please don't ruin my Monday morning'"

Ouch. Bitter much?

That's exactly my purpose: rude questions and remarks deserve even more rude replies:devil:

Madam B, giving a rude retort is absolutely contrary to my upbringing ~ thou shalt not be RUDE under any circumstance ~ but I think in these situations it makes perfect sense. I hope that I am never put to the test! Love your replies, subtle and not so subtle put downs and hope that I remember them.

That would sting based on your work-friendship. Yikes, pure and untethered jealousy is running riot here.
Whatever happened to being happy for someone's new big purchase? :thinkin:

This proves that she was never really your friend. You are better off rid of her.

I think there are already too many people out there who live out this thought process everyday. If you give someone the finger or disparage their salary, it'll give that person justification to retaliate as well. And where does it stop, then?

Hopefully it will stop when the offensive person never speaks to me again:smile1:
