I know what you mean. I tried the PM in BF out of interest and I think it would age really well into a slouchy well-travelled vibe in that leather. I’m not so sure about the others I’ve seen.

I had an evercolor (since sold) that became pretty slouchy quickly. I liked the slouch but, honestly, never fell in love with the color I'd purchased hence I sold it. Since then, was offered and bought a PM in Fauve barenia - that's by nature a stiffer/thicker leather hece the bag is more structured, even after wearing it regularly for awhile.
I like it both ways so it's, IMHO, a matter of preference. The bag looks great either way

In January, it was $12,300 at the boutique (in evercolor/evergrain) and $14,890 in Barenea. I had an evergrain (since sold) and now own a barenea (my favorite leather)

I had just gotten the GM in black from a boutique - the store had both sizes available but I prefer the bigger GM as it comes in the leather I wanted, think it is Togo. The PM comes in another leather, which I think is the Evergrain but it does not seem to be as ‘scratchproof’ as the Togo! I have a 2002 and that leather is not that durable and is already showing scruff marks from my nails.
Besides, the PM looks like a fanny pack when I tried it on and the GM is really more ‘masculine’ in my opinion and i like the slouchy look after using it for a while.

I had both a GM and PM. On my body, the GM looked way too big (though I loved how much you could fit inside) so I do think some of it comes down to your body frame and how the bag fits. I had a PM in evergrsij and agree the smooth leather is/feels more fragile. I ended up selling it and got a PM in Fauve Barenea (which is one of my favorite leathers). Not really big enough for a day bag (including my tablet) but perfect for a shopping trip/movies/out and about. It’s a really great bag
Hii any ladies wear the Kelly messenger bag in PM? I'm wondering how heavy it is, esp in Barenia leather.
That's a very good promotional photo for this bag.
After initial excitement, then disappointment, I wish the strap were adjustable.
Perhaps that's my excuse for not taking the plunge.
