Well, the moss green Cameron Satchel I saw at Macy's yesterday at lunch followed me home. I thought about it all afternoon and I have wanted a green leather bag for years. Until now, I never saw one I loved. Tags are off and I carried it to work today. I can't tell you the last time I carried a bag so soon after buying it. Not sure if either of the pics capture the color very well... but one captures my silly Sam, he's 8 months old.

Wow gorgeous bag! And I am not a fan of green, until now :smile1:

I thought of this thread when I saw that they added more bags to the Cameron line. I ended up getting the shoulder magazine bag in camel and the crossbody pouch in moss since I love your satchel color so much. That green really is something! I kinda wish they had the shoulder bag in moss, but somehow camel suits that shape and size, I think. I've never bought more than one of the same "family" of bags before... crossing my fingers that I'll like 'em.

Ooh, hope you like them! Let us know when they arrive & post pics of the real-deal.

Won't Be for a while, sadness! Apparently there's some sort of shipping delay on their site due to maintenance and it won't ship for at least a week, then 7 days to get here, and I'll be in the middle of a vacation so I'll see it in about 2.5 weeks. :( But they were the only place that had the crossbody in moss.

Do you think it's just too new and other sites will carry it soon?

I think it's easier than a turnlock but obviously not as convenient as a magnetic closure. The harder but is closing it but it might just be that I'm on the short side and reaching the lock easily on the messenger is the issue for me. I'm hoping the bags with the adjustable straps will be a cinch.

How easy is the clasp to open/close?

I have to admit, it's not a very smooth open/close for me on my Cameron satchel, but I love the bag style and the leather (feel, smell and color) SO much, that for me it's a minor thing. And frankly, I prefer a bag that's harder to get into since I work in downtown Chicago and don't want to be pick-pocketed AGAIN. (It happened with a magnetic closure flap bag)

Would someone who has the Cameron Satchel help me please? Nordstrom and Macy's both give the bag depth as 3.5 inches and the Frye's site says 6 inches. What I'd like to know is the depth of the bag at its' widest depth. I carry a lot of stuff and am trying to compare it to a D&B Dillen Satchel which is 11" wide x 10" high by 6" deep. None of the stores within a 50 mile radius have this bag so I'll have to order sight-unseen.

Anything else you have to share about this bag is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Fully expanded at the bottom, the depth of the Cameron Satchel is 6 inches. There's lots of organization: front slip pocket under the flap, 2 inside front patch pockets, inside back zip pocket, big center zip pocket that then divides the bag into 2 main sections. The leather on mine is thick and gorgeous. I find it a bit heavy hand-held, but with the shoulder strap it's great. For me (5'4", size 14/16), the strap is too short for cross-body/messenger wear.

Thanks, QueenLouis. Does the strap attachment placement cause you any problems? Or the fact that the strap apparently isn't adjustable?

The strap isn't adjustable and it's just a little too short for comfortable crossbody/messenger for me. It's definitely doable, but just hits too high for my comfort/preference. Hanging on my shoulder, it's great.
