I had no idea frye made bags! Are they new? The bags are beautiful, but then I like the Bal/rustic aesthetic.
they've made bags for at least a couple of years.....not sure how long before that but I've seen them at NR for at least that long.
What color do you like best in the Jenny Satchel? I am thinking red, gray, or whiskey.

as much as I like the red, I know I don't reach for a bright color as often......but it's a nice red. and the whiskey is a great neutral

I think seeing this taught me a lesson though. I was leaning toward trying a more structured bag - something along the lines of a Prada saffiano. But structured isn't what I usually gravitate toward. I think I was being tempted to follow the crowd in that direction. When I saw this Frye bag, it was like "yes, this is what I Iike"
Thanks for the thoughts...leaning toward gray because it's not like anything else that I have. Whiskey is one of my fave bag colors, and I really liked the red when I saw it in person.
Yes, I always end up regretting structured bags...I need "medium structure." Not too floppy, not to structured.
I ended up getting the Whiskey Jenny...will post pics when she arrives! We can see how reality matches up to my hopes for a medium structure, polished-casual satchel!

What's your feeling on the handles? Personally I'd like the double handles to be long enough to go over shoulder but it does have the long strap.
I'm going to Nordstrom today and I'm sure I'll visit these bags again.
Really good point. I am so easily influenced by trends! Right now I'm like... "Oh, boxy bags with handles are so cute! I want a handbag for the crook of my arm with a nice trapezoidal structure!" ... and then I buy one, and then it rots in my closet. Next to the bucket bag. And (too often) the Herbag backpack. Maybe all I want is a nice smooshy tote-satchel...
And, yeah, price almost doesn't have anything to do with not being able to justify this right now... I just have to use my other bags (or sell them) before I can justify adding another to my collection. I've been on a new-TPF-member spree this month.

Looking back at some of my purchases that I thought back then were such a great deal, they don't look so good now.
