Duclos just got back to me after consulting with Ramesh and they were concerned with how the exotic skin would handle the embroidery (“resistance” is the word they used) so they aren’t going to be producing it after all.

Yes, that's understandable and what I was also wondering about when you mentioned that they were going to use an exotic skin underneath the passementerie.

Hopefully, you can come up with an interesting SO alternative with them that you said you're currently consulting about.

Hello! Considering a purchase with JD, but can't seem to find the return policy for online orders on their site? Does anyone have any experience with returns, or an online order? Thanks in advance!
.1. Right of Withdrawal and Withdrawal Period

In accordance with French and European law, the consumer has a period of fourteen (14) days from the delivery date of the Product to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to justify their reasons or pay any penalty, in order to obtain an exchange or refund, provided that the Products are returned in their original packaging and in perfect condition within fourteen (14) days of notifying the vendor of the consumer's decision to withdraw.

However, as part of its general return policy (to request a refund or exchange), JOSEPH DUCLOS allows you to withdraw for a period of thirty (30) days from the delivery date of the Products rather than fourteen (14), without having to justify your reasons or paying any penalty. Thereafter, you will no longer be able to exercise your right of withdrawal.

I haven't had a full experience with an online order yet, but from what I experienced through inquiring, they do respond in a timely fashion and the item you order will be inspected carefully before shipment to you. If they find something wrong, they will send it to the atelier to correct. Once it is fixed, the atelier will send it back to the boutique to ship to you. IMO, that's assuring that you will receive an item in excellent condition and will avoid having to return, unless it doesn't work out for you for some reason. I also think that says a lot about them that they care about their products being in the best quality and condition for their clients to receive.

I like both the Diane and SC.

I am leaning toward the SC, because it has so many cool elements in a bag.

Besides @bagnut1 mentioned about the clasp, the clutch is being made by one piece of leather like the Delvaux Coolbox as well as it is using a moulding method to shape the bag, everything are just so unique and screaming premium skills and techniques ❤️
The SC is my personal fav too, I tried it in the store and just fell in love
it really is special, the moulding technique is unique and the entire bag is 100% hand stitched, not a single part is machine stitched. Now I have to plan an acquisition
