Hiiiiiiii: so I went to JD last week. I made an appointment online and met two wonderful ladies at the boutique who gave me a tour, free perfume samples and a bag cleaning brush (?) lol. I came home (without meeting Ramesh Nair) but with the Coquelicot horizontal Lectoure tote. Luvvvvvvvvvv it (thanx @bagnut1). It is definitely more orangey than the Diane coquelicot. I really needed a tote and I am happy. Now other JD box bags/pochettes are on my wishlist. OMG obsessed.

PS: price increases soon and new strap(s) for Saint Clair messenger bag also coming soon, they said.

Congratulations on your lovely tote. Glad to hear that they're coming out with more straps. Can't wait to see what it will look like. Their passementerie straps are the gold standard at the moment.

Hi All,

Would like to seek comments on the Saint Clair mini clutch.

For the past few years, I've been buying preloved (mostly Hermes under the radar bags) since I don't ouch when I scratch my "new to me" bags or when need to rehome them. I am happy to wait for a good deal.

However, when I first saw the SC mini clutch, it is screaming to take me home. I don't expect it will be circulate in the 2nd hand market soon as well as since it doesn't have a store in my country so I can get a tax reduction of approx 15% by buying online, so I am really tempting to get it.

I haven't seen a JD bag in real but I used to own a Rejane and still have a Gabrielle clutch from Moynat so I am sure the quality will be as good.

You girls are really knowledgeable so would like to seek more feedback before I take my card out

Supplementary, I am a small bag person even before the mini bag trend. The things I carry are: card holder/keys/ tissue/ lip balm and sanitizer, so the clutch should be enough for me.

I have been buying big bags last few years to carry stuff for my baby, since he now turns 3, so he carries his own stuff and I can return to my small bag.

I was planning to get a BB Rejane or Halzan 25 as my next bag, but this SC mini clutch really caught me.

So really would like to hear your thoughts.

❤️

While I haven’t seen that particular bag in person (it was introduced after my visit last year), I think it’s gorgeous and looks like an elegant small bag that can be worn with just about everything.

I also really like the clasp - Ramesh is a genius at hardware.

(And personnaly I prefer it to the BB Rejane.) I say go for it!

I’m following along as I’m also a bit obsessed with the SC.

Thanks, I think I will go for it too after drooling to all the pictures I've found on IG. Just whether should be now or wait till my birthday in July to be a more special bag. (I allow myself one bag per year and already using the quota in Jan)

Both colours look good, so I need to decide on that too. Marronnier seems more classic and could be more casual while the Ardoise looks more luxury to me. Also I don't recall seeing box or barenia leather in grey so think it will be interesting to see it patina overtime.

PS. I really like your Diane messenger bag, it is lovely.

Thank you, loving it for sure.

I think you will be happy with whatever color your choose. (You might also get in touch and ask if any other colors are in the pipeline for that particular bag.)

I like both the Diane and SC.

I am leaning toward the SC, because it has so many cool elements in a bag.

Besides @bagnut1 mentioned about the clasp, the clutch is being made by one piece of leather like the Delvaux Coolbox as well as it is using a moulding method to shape the bag, everything are just so unique and screaming premium skills and techniques ❤️

Completely agree! Also love the cool box. I feel the SC really special bag that oozes of craft. The hardware they use is over the top gorgeous.

Falling in love with these bags but am a bit reluctant to take the plunge as with this price, I'd expect them to be top notch in terms of customer service, after-sales care and repairs.

I tried Moreau a couple of months ago and was somewhat disappointed with their performance on the above parameters (though the leather is yum), but Moreau was like half the price of these.

As much as I love a couple of the JD bags I don’t need to be an OG. I would really like to know how the bags are going to wear before I dive in. A couple of reviews made me a bit nervous about the leather getting marked up prematurely.
