Wha? So the underside (not seen when worn unless you want to ruin the embroidery) and the tabs would be exotic?

“To answer your question, it is possible to place a special order of a Passementerie Strap with exotic leather. What the Product Team would recommend is to have the exotic leather under the passementerie, but to keep the calf leather on the side of the strap where it would brush against the shoulder.”

Got it, just looking at their photo and trying to imagine that layering..... seems like a sub-optimal use of exotic skin(s).

But I realize I am starting to sound judge-y so am going to stop before I am forced to sell all of my bags and switch to Stella McCartney.

I get it’s not the best use of exotics but I’m not really trying to maximize my best use. I just think it would pair in an interesting way with a bespoke bag that I have in mind.

If you end up getting an SO passementerie strap please post some photos of it. I, for one, would be very interested to see what J. Duclos would do in this regard.

Oooh... sounds tantalizing - can you share any info about the bag you're pondering?

Duclos just got back to me after consulting with Ramesh and they were concerned with how the exotic skin would handle the embroidery (“resistance” is the word they used) so they aren’t going to be producing it after all.

Hiiiiiiii: so I went to JD last week. I made an appointment online and met two wonderful ladies at the boutique who gave me a tour, free perfume samples and a bag cleaning brush (?) lol. I came home (without meeting Ramesh Nair) but with the Coquelicot horizontal Lectoure tote. Luvvvvvvvvvv it (thanx @bagnut1). It is definitely more orangey than the Diane coquelicot. I really needed a tote and I am happy. Now other JD box bags/pochettes are on my wishlist. OMG obsessed.

PS: price increases soon and new strap(s) for Saint Clair messenger bag also coming soon, they said.

This tote is my next purchase. Thank you for sharing your photos. I love the color! I, too, like the blue and coquelicot, and looking at yours, I’m leaning towards the coquelicot. :girlsigh:
I like the slouch, but do you think a bag insert would work, too? Is shoulder-wear possible irl? Do the handles flare-out and/or does the bag collapse when empty? Or, does the bull-skin have enough structure? Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.:flowers:

Oooh.... thanks for sharing the eye candy!
Are you tempted?
Tempted a bit by this one (I enjoy the casual yet refined vibe of the materials)

The other models aren’t quite my style but I appreciate their designs immensely.

However, I’m still communication with Duclos on some other alternatives for a SO strap.
