if it were me who was ordering, I'd definitely get the special order with Lumière as the leather. I like the grain and shineHello all! Reporting back!
The SA would not confirm certain details about forthcoming products, but here’s an idea of what we can look forward to:
- confirmed price increase for January 31, no specific prices can be shared yet but they will be going up
- new bags will be coming in March/April
- there will be 2 new sizes of the Diane: 1 size smaller than the Diane L20, and 1 size larger than the Diane L26 (she did not share exact dimensions of new sizes)
- there will be new leathers and colors, but she could not confirm which new colors/leathers are coming for which bags. All of the new colors and leathers will be at the new increased prices.
The virtual appointment was very lovely and the SA took plenty of time to show all the options available. I’m now debating between the Diane Messenger in Ardoise (heritage leather) or Occitan Blue (tempo leather), OR a special order of black leather (exact leather tbd) with rose gold hardware. Decisions, decisions!
Oh that is special!! 😍 Lumiere is gorgeous. I’m strongly leaning towards the Ardoise in heritage or the special order. It really depends what the specs will be! Hopefully I’ll know soon what’s possible for the SO.

Yes those are both new sizes for the tophandle Diane L. (I’m super curious to see the size of the smaller one!) No new sizes for the Diane Messenger, at least none that were disclosed to me…

In an earlier post, I stated that a magazine posted photos they took (over a year ago) of a JD prototype bag that later became the Fontélie.
I asked someone at JD about this bag and got the backstory about it and the photos. JD wasn’t happy about the magazine’s misleading post/ad.

bummer because this looks so pretty.C’mon JD, throw us some crumbs! We’re running out of things to talk about here. I don’t know who does their marketing, but they need to step it up a notch.
Okay, I’m going to say it. I think their IG advertising should include more (than one) middle-aged model(s). The giddy, post-college aged models don’t move me. Maybe because I’m old.
I admit it. I’d love to see more 50+ women and men carrying the bags in addition to the youngsters. The bags are timeless classics … show it.

I wonder what areas they have allocated the 7M eur funding to. I hope it's for hiring new artisans so that they can make more bags.
