I'm highly annoyed by this photo because before I bought my Fontelie, I specifically asked if they had any plans to release it in a blue color. If so, I wanted to wait to purchase until that release. They told me no.
I don’t know what colors and leathers JD will offer in the Fontélie design for 2024. We’ll have to wait and see. So far, I haven’t heard about a blue coming out. Perhaps someone with JD intel has more insight.

W Magazine took it upon themselves to post an IG story (two days ago) of a prototype Fontélie (filmed in 2022) that will never be produced.:cursing:

My heart skipped a beat with excitement, only to be let down. Please don’t be upset about colors based on this IG story. W Magazine should never have put it on IG.

I’m excited to see more colors, (hopefully) more pebbled leathers, and maybe a new bag or two by fall.

I had similar concerns. I had a bag in my shopping basket on their website because I wanted to see how much taxes/duties were. I entered my email and mailing address to get to that stage. The extra fees were too much for me to stomach, so I never went through with it. But on the plus side, a day or so later, a member of the JD staff reached out by email to ask if I had any questions about the bag. They offered to send pictures or videos, or even arrange a zoom meeting to review their collection.
Great customer service. I didn't bother to take them up on their offer, as I really need to see it in person.
I’ve wanted a Diane L26 for over a year. Occasionally, I do what you did to view the bag’s final costs — $7800+. I realize prices usually go up as time passes, making waiting silly, but I believe the day i can stomach the financial hit will come soon. The Diane is one of three bags I want in that price range.:whut:

Hello! On the advice of YouTuber Anesu and this thread, I emailed JD to inquire about upcoming trunk shows, specifically in the U.S. I was told that they are planning more shows for 2024 but no dates are set at this time.

In the meantime, I have a virtual appt scheduled for Jan 12. I requested to see all Diane models including Diane Messenger for a size comparison. I also expressed interest in learning more about the various leather options. (I’m really unsure about what type of leather I would prefer without seeing them in person.) I’m also planning to ask about preorders / ordering process. Happy to ask other questions on behalf of this group and will report back here after my appointment.
Hi, thanks for offering to ask qs! I’m guessing many others besides me would like to know what new colours, leathers & (dare we hope) new models we can expect in 2024. Not sure they will want to share exact details as it will spoil the reveal if they put out info in advance, but they could at least reassure us that we can look forward to some newness soon. Thanks again for your kind offer :hbeat:

Can you ask about the price increase, if possible? When is it and by how much. Thank you

Wanted to provide this sub with the information in case it's helpful for anyone -

I did inquire about a custom Diane messenger bag - I wanted black with gold hardware and a purple inner flap.

I was told that the change of hardware would be a 20% raise in cost, and the change of the inner flap would be a $10% raise. Total cost for the order would be 6630 Euros or 7269 USD and it would take 6 months to fulfill.

The current price of the black standard Diane messenger is 5100 euros/ 5593 USD, so to change hardware and the inner flap is indeed a 30% price increase.

Thank you for sharing this information. I find the HW price jump strange, as months ago the L26/black leather was also offered with GHW. I also think if you are asking for a stock leather color for the under flap it is odd that would incur such a price jump? The wait time I understand, the bag is being made for you in addition to other's custom orders and stock orders; but the price increase on standard leathers does not compute for me.

That approach and rough pricing structure is similar to how Moynat did custom orders when Ramesh was there.

It made sense to me - if a client wants a configuration that is not a production item, they are typically willing to pay (and wait) for it. And, the upcharge is a built-in hedge against being overloaded with "one-off" pieces designed by clients rather than the maison.

To read you explain it, it makes sense. I only have done custom with Hermes and was kind of floored I didn't have to pay upfront or pay more, lol

I think with Hermès, for a la carte orders, they don't really give a timeline when your order arrives because they can't guarantee your bag is going to be made (though with the number of SO's being received by customers, they often do). They are known to deliver after more than 2 years of waiting, and as long as your bag hasn't arrived yet, they can cancel the order for any reason. And you're only limited to the very few colors they offer for the year. So I guess not asking for payment gives them freedom to not commit to anything. Plus they will charge you whatever is the current price, instead of the price when you ordered it. And if by the time it arrives you don't want it anymore because it has been too long and your taste changed, they can easily sell it to someone else or transfer to another store/HQ.

They do ask for a 50% downpayment, though, for real custom orders that go through Horizon. And the price difference is not 30% but at least 200% of the same bag model (so 3x the price). lol

Anyway, I was also considering a custom Duclos order. I photoshopped one of their bags to the colors I want but didn't like what I saw. It was giving autumn vibes but what I wanted was a year-round bag. I guess I'm just going to buy off the shelf.

So insightful! Thank you. Hermes and I have broken up over cocktail glasses, so I will never experience what you call Horizon,

Hermès and I are on a cool off, let's meet other people phase.
Aside from their poor customer service, I can't believe that this is 1500 EUR more expensive than a JD Saint-Clair messenger, and yet the craftsmanship, utility, and leather choices of this H bag pale in comparison to JD's:

I also haven't had a Horizon order. I only got to the asking the price part.
