What is a private client? Does this mean you only work with Farfetch concierges for your custom bag needs? What are the perks? Do they include updates on the creation of your custom bags?👜🙂

Thank you all for the informationyes but you get more than "points" or basic rewards, I have been given vacations and more
Private client is the top spend tier with FF. You are assigned a concierge who can source items for you, send you exclusive try before buy jewelry, schedule boutique "virtual" appts with Chanel or any other brand that is not available online - pretty much a personal shopper who you go to directly with any requests and or issues, or help.
and yes, with the new partnership with Duclos you can design your bespoke bag with your concierge and then wait the 6 months for delivery, lol.
Nice perks!yes but you get more than "points" or basic rewards, I have been given vacations and more.
Nice perks!
I cut my bag allowance several years ago. I’ll never see this level of luxury. I can say what you wrote about the private client experience beats standing in a cold, rainy queue outside a store, hoping to be offered something in a color you don’t like.
TBH I don't really buy bags from FF, a Chanel boy through virtual, a Givenchy antigona on sale. I buy a lot of clothing from FF because their international partners get items that the US boutiques do not.
I once asked my concierge if he could get me a Kelly 28cm in dalmation buffalo (black/silver) - I had one and regrettably sold it here on tPF ages ago. I have always had massive sellers remorse over that sale.
Anywho, I asked him to find me one, he found me 2 - priced: $68k and $79k - F*** NOOOOOO - I laughed, so just because they can source anything does not mean it is at a deal, lol. I also asked recently about a YSL runway coat from 2019, he found me 2 (again this 2 #) one was $14k one was $17k, and AGAIN: HARD NOOOOO.
Lol. private client is fun if you are going to buy clothes why not buy from one source and get perks, but private client does not mean deals, I wish it did!
!!!!!!!!
Those prices!!!!!!!!!!
This is one reason why I ❤️ JD. They’re priced well for beautiful, well-crafted bags.
I’ve given up on H. Other lux companies quietly mock the H queues. Other companies don’t look at the H experience (for most customers) as a lux experience.
I don’t like pampering when I shop, but I expect what I want if I’m spending $3-$9K on a bag. H resell prices (on many of their bags) are ridiculous!
I understand you. I’ve made regretful sales. Five years ago, I vowed to stop selling my unused lux bags. It’s caused me to be careful and thoughtful with my choices.
I tried responding to this one before but I don't see my response went through (perhaps because I linked to another website?) - anyway, they do charge extra with all those customizations, but reportedly it's "not that much more" than the original price. You would probably have to set up a virtual appointment and discuss with a JD SA directly to find out.Hi. I’ve searched through this thread and haven’t found the answer but there are 65 pages so I could have missed it so please forgive me if that’s the case, but my question is:
On the JD website you can personalise the Diane bag with respect to leather colour, hardware colour (I like the 26 size in black leather with palladium hardware), and engraving. I REALLY like the idea of a bag with customised and personal engraving. Do they charge extra for this level of personalisation?
Thank you for taking the time to reply twice. 🙏. I’m investigating different brands at the moment.I tried responding to this one before but I don't see my response went through (perhaps because I linked to another website?) - anyway, they do charge extra with all those customizations, but reportedly it's "not that much more" than the original price. I saw that, too. Maybe it’s through private conversations with a JD rep.
Personally, I was never a huge fan of Farfetch and I’m a little disappointed the “Amazon of S.Korea” is reportedly buying the company. I fear creating a tier-system for smaller and bespoke companies (through Farfetch) will lessen the attention all customers deserve — the wealthy to the person who saved all year for a bag. I’m afraid this kind of tier system might grow into what we’ve seen happen to Chanel boutiques and the snobbery/offerings at H.
For some reason, though it’s not very profitable, I love stand-alone small ateliers, like JD, with craftsmanship that rivals the best of the big brands. There’s something a little special about those bags. Big profits don’t happen overnight (unless a company comes out with a new It Bag). Immediate financial gratification leads so many to big money companies.
Did I spot new colors and a Fontélie sister? Please note the holes in the bag for the shoulder strap.

Yes! That blue is stunning! I love the color saturation.I would not be mad if they lined the Diane's in this blue.....lol!!
Agreed but like what I said to another dear member, how can they grow their reputation if they are not selling enough bags to keep them afloat? I see their partnership with Farfetch as just a way to funnel more customers into the brand. It's not a new system and has been in place for sometime. As a rewards system, it's pretty good. Other brands wouldn't even register $12K/£10K, and all Gold standard clients work personally with a PCA they click with including around-the-clock messaging.
Farfetch was first created to a) help small businesses/boutiques reach a global audience online, and b) help consumers who don't live in major cities or prefer niche brands gain access by dealing with duty/shipping.
Minus points are FF is an agent and not a store. How products and packaged and how fast their shipping is still up to the boutique, but I don't think there'll be a problem with JC. My worries are as JC expands, will we still get the same levels of service or the products the attention to quality? Personally, I think it's too soon for such an expansion, they should work on growing their reputation first.
