Hi everyone! I conditioned my Diane Messenger today with Apple leather conditioner and wow! What a difference!! This is in Heritage leather and I have had it for a little over 1 year.

I don’t “baby” my bags, but I do treat them with care. Even so, the front of the bag really looked like it took a beating. I’m happy so far with how the leather is wearing and starting to develop a nice patina and it looks great with a little conditioning!
that looks so rich and beautiful :) I loooove!!!

Hi! I’m new to Joseph Duclos, but I went into Printemps after Pilates to check it out and the Diane clutch caught my eye. The navy blue contrast lining with the red is such a lovely nod to France. I was really impressed by the quality and workmanship so it was a bit of an impulse buy for me, but no regrets!
THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!! <3

oh wow I remember that Moynat bag so well. I think it's called the Marie Louise. That was actually on my to-buy list back when Ramesh was still at Moynat. I reckon it was never produced because my old SA never got back to me on it even after Ramesh left.

Hello! Has anyone heard of issues with the hardware? I bought mine just last year in September from the Paris boutique, have used it most 10x and store it properly as well. I took it out today and noticed tarnishing on the hardware 😭

Has this happened to anyone before? Just a little disappointed that this is happening.

Hmmm nope. Still looks like new. Reach out to customer service they will help :)

I’m in the club thanks to TRR - other than hearing air move through the flap on open to close (probably just life and leather,) I am so delighted! (And off to figure out what needs to go bc I did not expect this bag to pop up and it’s a most inconvenient time for it to have happened but I’ve been watching them since the start of this thread lol!!)

Ah hello it was you!! I had my TRR SA transfer this bag in for me and on its trip it was purchased before it could arrive to the store. Glad it went to a lovely home. When you say hearing air move through the flap, do you mean there’s an air bubble or the two layers of leather in the flap aren’t stitched together properly? TIA

I almost had it transferred to my local store and called them, but thought it would go when it was en route so I just bought it hoping for the best!!! 🤣😂🤣

I THINK what I can audibly hear, is air move in and out of the stitches themselves. Like if you open the flap just the movement of the leather and the larger stitches for hand stitching, causes a small intake of air that when you close it, releases out of the stitching holes. It doesn’t seem to be a structural issue, nor an air bubble trapped. And the stitching looks great. I cannot feel a gap or anything off in the flap itself. But my only experience with flap bags are totally different styles and much softer, less structured leather so way more give. I don’t think it’s cause for concern on a gently used bag? If anyone else has thoughts I’d be interested for sure!

Congratulations! I love how the Diane hw looks in silver-tone.

I would just send them this one.

Put it this way, it's not going to get any better and that should not happen for years.

It’s a shame that this happened so quickly - I don’t know if it applies in your case but I’ve noticed my bag hardware tends to tarnish much faster in humid environments. If I keep a bag at the beach for a decent stretch of time, I haven’t been able to do much to stop it. That being said, I have had great luck using simple silver tarnish cloths on the hardware - here’s an example on my Hermes Lydie

I do not do it often but it’s a pretty effective 30 second fix.

JD emailed me back right away and stated that they had this problem before and it was result of of DHL not remitting the taxes in 2023, so they will be refunding me and asked for my bank info for the transfer!
Well, still waiting on the refund. Sequence of events:
  • Tues 3/18 - I sent my initial email to JD that I apparently owed additional CA taxes by 4/15/25 from the import of my JD bag. I included screenshots of the CA request for taxes.
  • Wed 3/19 - JD responded that they’d refund me, just needed my bank info to transfer the refund, and if I could get that info to them quickly so they could try to ensure the refund was sent before the 4/15 tax date.
  • Thurs 3/20 - I sent them my bank info (routing number and account number). Meanwhile, on 3/24 I just paid the taxes myself as I have a newborn and didn’t want to lapse on this with everything going on in my personal life.
  • Tues 3/25 - JD confirmed receipt and said they would send to their admin and confirm with me on the refund.
  • Tues 4/8 - I reached out and asked the status as I didn’t see a refund yet in my bank account.
  • Weds 4/9 - JD said they sent info to admin on 3/21 and would let me know when the transfer was done
  • Thurs 4/10 - Another person from JD reached out asking for my routing number and full bank address.
  • Thurs 4/10 - I gave them the info (tough as my bank is Fidelity and has tons of locations, so just gave their HQ address)
  • Weds 4/23 - I emailed JD asking for the status as I still didn’t see a refund in my account
  • Tues 4/29 - JD said my refund was confirmed and I should see it in my account in 3-5 business days.
  • Thurs 5/8 - Having waited a full week, I emailed them again letting them know I haven’t received the refund yet.
Now it’s Mon 5/12 and I’m still waiting. Hoping to have resolution soon! Just providing an update in case there are any other California JD owners here that are going through this or anything.
