Well, still waiting on the refund. Sequence of events:
  • Tues 3/18 - I sent my initial email to JD that I apparently owed additional CA taxes by 4/15/25 from the import of my JD bag. I included screenshots of the CA request for taxes.
  • Wed 3/19 - JD responded that they’d refund me, just needed my bank info to transfer the refund, and if I could get that info to them quickly so they could try to ensure the refund was sent before the 4/15 tax date.
  • Thurs 3/20 - I sent them my bank info (routing number and account number). Meanwhile, on 3/24 I just paid the taxes myself as I have a newborn and didn’t want to lapse on this with everything going on in my personal life.
  • Tues 3/25 - JD confirmed receipt and said they would send to their admin and confirm with me on the refund.
  • Tues 4/8 - I reached out and asked the status as I didn’t see a refund yet in my bank account.
  • Weds 4/9 - JD said they sent info to admin on 3/21 and would let me know when the transfer was done
  • Thurs 4/10 - Another person from JD reached out asking for my routing number and full bank address.
  • Thurs 4/10 - I gave them the info (tough as my bank is Fidelity and has tons of locations, so just gave their HQ address)
  • Weds 4/23 - I emailed JD asking for the status as I still didn’t see a refund in my account
  • Tues 4/29 - JD said my refund was confirmed and I should see it in my account in 3-5 business days.
  • Thurs 5/8 - Having waited a full week, I emailed them again letting them know I haven’t received the refund yet.
Now it’s Mon 5/12 and I’m still waiting. Hoping to have resolution soon! Just providing an update in case there are any other California JD owners here that are going through this or anything.
I'm very sorry to hear that.... when i went through the same experience last year (JUL/AUG), I was very persistent (maybe too much) ... I ended up having JD issue me a refund check from their marketing company which is US based instead of dealing with international wire transfer. I'm in shock that it is still an open issue.... When I was dealing with it, I was the first one (in terms of JD charging State tax, yet, not submitting it to the State) plus most JD staff (especially decision making staff) were away on vacation ... therefore time frame for resolution was longer due to that.. One would think that JD has learned.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hello! Has anyone heard of issues with the hardware? I bought mine just last year in September from the Paris boutique, have used it most 10x and store it properly as well. I took it out today and noticed tarnishing on the hardware 😭

Has this happened to anyone before? Just a little disappointed that this is happening.

Just wanted to share a quick update on my straps—reached out to my SA in France and they immediately arranged a pickup, even if I’m based outside of France. They confirmed the hardware issue shouldn’t be happening and sent it in for checking. It was picked up April 24th and shipped back by May 24th. Super smooth process. Really happy with their service—just hoping the hardware holds up better this time ❤️

Hi: i bought a St Clair pochette (Maronnier) online to pick up in person. I am having second thoughts about the color but I am also not so sure about the other color option: Ardoise. The ladies at JD, like many French bag gurlies I know, luvvvvvvv this color. I live in the Midwest and in winters, I feel depressed looking at this color although I can see it looks very elegant. Also, Ramesh Nair had posted some new pochettes in his story last winter. Pretty sure I saw a black one but I can't find the screenshot of the black pochette on my phone. Please vote: maronnier/ardoise/black (is black an option?/no idea). I might either stick to Maronnier or get a refund. Not sure. Undecided like a typical Pisces.

Anyone in here got this pochette? What color did you pick? Most importantly, how do you like it so far? Please share anything. I looked through old pages but I didnt get very far. Anyone with this pochette?

Thank you so much.

Re the St Clair pochette, the reason I bought it now is because I don't wanna have to pay anything above its current price for this mini pochette. When it first came out, it was 2000 something euros and with recurrent price increases, its gone up to Idk total 3000 something with taxes etc. I love how it is made of a single piece of leather and it is completely handmade (may be I am wrong). Many brands would have you believe their bags are handmade, I mean, even Diane is not completely handmade (machine stitched on some parts; please correct me if I am wrong).

If anyone is eyeing one of JD's Lectoure totes, my review is: I love JD totes but the newer one is a tad bit heavy compared to the older Lectoure tote. If I were go back in time, I would not buy the former again.

It’s definitely a chameleon and changes a lot depending on the light. It’s a lovely and very well made bag. The leather is sensitive though and it will get marks. But overall it’s stunning!

Just wanted to let you know that umm the maronnier mini pochette, like Purseperson420 mentioned above, looks different under different lighting. Maronnier is chestnut-y and has a brown-ish undertone. I am loving mine. Entirely handmade piece. 👌🏽 If you want the pochette badly, I would say get it before the price goes up. I mean, it used to 2000 something euros. Now after several years of price ⏫️, its 2800. Even if one is a multi-millionaire/billionaire, why pay more than what it's worth right. Idk just my two cents. :) x

PS: The first pic is Maronnier under room light. The second also Maro under daylight. And the third is Ardoise at JD store just for you ;)
