Oh great memory, I forgot about that bag - it was mixed metal hardware right? What was it called?

And looking again at @sonya_kaur 's post above, I realize I totally misunderstood the photo (was looking at it on my phone).

Now I get the construction (I think) but it seems very odd in a different way than I initially thought. Makes me think of a mailbox where you drop stuff in but have a hard time getting it out.
I dont remember the name of the old bag, but yes the closure was fantastic, multiple metals.
A lot rides on how large the bag is, how ergonomic the opening is, so I’m curious to see in person. I’m a little disappointed that there’s nothing up on the Joseph Duclos site. Would have been nice to see the new St Clair being carried so we get an idea of the proportions. Still, it does build the anticipation ;)

Sorry, I meant the Joseph Duclos IG not site

How did you get a resale? Do you mean second hand?
Not sure if this ever got answered (I’m also here several months late), but if she meant pre-loved, I also just scored one on the realreal (Diane L20 in Ardoise— I’ll post pics when it arrives). They seem to be rare, but a few do trickle in here and there. I would the realreal like a hawk.

Update—the bag arrived, and she’s beautiful, in great condition. Very pleased I scored her.

Hello!

Finally! A good news! JD issued me a refund today for CA state sales taxes $515. Thank you all for your support in this matter!

Per JD email: "DHL made an error in their calculations in the payouts. DHL confirmed that they only paid $476 in total for both duties and taxes."
To me it means that DHL only paid custom duties to US custom as it should.

Thank you all again for all your help!
Welp, guess who got a letter from the State of California stating that she owes additional taxes for an imported bag that she bought in 2023 and arrived in April 2024?

Guess it's my turn to go through this back and forth with JD. Really, really disappointed. Hopefully it won't take as long to resolve for me as it did for @YGR. Will keep you all updated!

I don't live in California but I'm wondering if this is going to happen to me, too. Good luck with JD!

I'm so sorry.... Hopefully JD will cooperate and it'll be taken care off timely. At least it is not a vacation season there.

JD emailed me back right away and stated that they had this problem before and it was result of of DHL not remitting the taxes in 2023, so they will be refunding me and asked for my bank info for the transfer!
Good news!
Previously, I have tried explaining to JD that DHL doesn't remit state taxes (at least in CA), DHL is only responsible for custom duties remittance back to US custom. Also, State of CA rep confirmed my understanding and was trying to communicate that info to JD on her own.
Hopefully lesson learned and this issue won't impact any other customers.
