I would think if they still have the same return policy as previously (can return within 30 days for any reason), then JD would rather the order get cancelled now then have to deal with a return later.
It depends on how the order was processed because sometimes the customer agrees to a non refundable policy when it’s made for them. (Even if it’s not modified at all but since it isn’t currently in stock it can count as MTO… unfortunately some companies can be sneaky with this so you need to always read the fine print).

What’s weird is at the bottom of their site there’s a refund policy link but when you click it, it takes you to a privacy policy instead. 💀

However since the link is dead… so is my attempt at researching information for the OP. :/

Hi, thanks for your response. I’m waiting for them to get back to me regarding it. SA said she will discuss it with the operating manager but its been days. Its been almost 2 weeks now since I requested for the cancellation.

I was initially told they can’t cancel my order and give a refund because its past 30 days already since the date of purchase. But their website stated under 10.1. Right of Withdrawal and Withdrawal Period. It says:

“In accordance with French and European law, the consumer has a period of fourteen (14) days from the delivery date of the Product to exercise their right of withdrawal”

There is also a section that states “However, as part of its general return policy (to request a refund or exchange), JOSEPH DUCLOS allows you to withdraw for a period of thirty (30) days from the delivery date of the Products rather than fourteen (14), without having to justify your reasons or paying any penalty”.

Both says FROM THE DELIVERY DATE. But the item has not even shipped yet.

New St Clair style, saddlebag-ish

Also I noticed they removed the Diane clutch from the website (the one Macron's wife got). I wonder if they rested the design. I think it's a bit too early to rest designs.
Too bad about losing the Diane clutch---IMO this was one of their most successful iterations of the Diane line.

Looks like the main opening is only partway too? Not quite sure. I like the look of the suede and the overall shape but honestly am hesitant to buy anything from overseas right now.
That makes me think that probably the underneath larger flap is what opens and the smaller one is decorative. If so I am a hard no.

Another color way of the new St. Clair iteration. Interestingly, Hermes has a similar shaped bag now too.

the Hermès bag came first. it debuted on the FW24 runway which was shown spring '24.

any idea how the strap is secured on the new St Clair bag? I noticed there are no holes on the strap, so I wonder how it stays put. So very interesting

Back in 2019 Ramesh did a similar half-moon shape at Moynat (I found this photo on his IG page). And since its the St Clair line, it has to be a hand made, angle stitched bag. The St Clair has always been my personal favorite for the play of shapes and the rigid/ soft contrast of materials, and of course the angle stitch. I‘m looking forward to seeing it IRL, hopefully I will be in Paris in the next few months.

Oh great memory, I forgot about that bag - it was mixed metal hardware right? What was it called?

And looking again at @sonya_kaur 's post above, I realize I totally misunderstood the photo (was looking at it on my phone).

Now I get the construction (I think) but it seems very odd in a different way than I initially thought. Makes me think of a mailbox where you drop stuff in but have a hard time getting it out.
