Thank you for your support. I agree with your conclusion.... the admin person who was trying to help me is with JD for about 2 weeks or 2 months, and the person who i was dealing with prior, just left on vacation in the middle of the open issue without informing her brand new staff on what is going on.... Plus inability to provide any workpapers/support related to CA State Sales tax (governmental entity) is simply shocking....There are certainly issues with internal controls, speaking from accounting/auditing perspective ... and very unfortunately I'm in the middle of all this mess.
What a total fiasco. I’d leave them a poor google review. We in the US are learning so much from this experience (ordering rwmotely) but it is unfortunate for you to experience this.

Now I am disappointed reading about the customer service and continue to be disappointed in the bag options. They are charging a premium and should offer premium service. I am sure YGR will get things resolved, but it's painful to see what they have put her (him?they?) through! Sending you good thoughts.

I was hoping to possibly purchase the Diane messenger later this year in Paris but the price point even there was still giving me a little pause for as beautiful as the bags are, they haven’t been around so long, and this adds to that pause. It does seem some folks have had good CS if they had issues from the US. But I worry about after care without a US presence and this isn’t helping. I haven’t ruled it out but it’s definitely data for the overall picture in my head. I still love that dang Diane messenger tho lol!!!!

Nothing is resolved in my case and it is not even being closed to be resolved or ever be resolved.

I was requesting refunds (multiple times) for the CA Sales tax charged by JD and not remitted back to the State ($514.45)....
that way i can pay back to the State and clear my name from their database.

I was told by the new person that she would talk to the main guy and ask for refund. About a week later, she said that she found a paperwork which proof that JD paid taxes. To me is means that main guy didn't authorize a refund. The paperwork found was a DHL bill which shows that custom duties are paid. In other words, it doesn't address outstanding State Sales tax at all.

I called her today again stating that paperwork (DHL invoice) found is not addressing outstanding issue. she was very confused.
what is really disturbing that all this time (tons of emails, many phone calls, etc) i was crystal clear that I'm only asking about State of CA sales tax and nothing else... I stated various times that there are no issues related to US custom..... and yet, it is like talking to a wall

this morning call was about 5th call between myself and a new person, I explained the situation for the 5th time again and after all she hanged up on me

i'm so very tired to deal with this.... they are not cooperating at all.... they thought if they can get DHL bill from 2023, it will resolve the issue.... now they were able to get that bill but it didn't address state sales tax at all... they have no clue... i bet it is the same way to all US state sales taxes

i honestly do not think that JD is capable to resolve it
they are absolutely refusing to issue me a refund and also they are unable to resolve outstanding tax issue
JD has no idea on how their US sales taxes are paid or whether they are paid ...

This is unfortunate! :( And you are sure this is not importer tax (use tax)? for bringing goods into California from abroad (above $800) which you would have to pay on top of California sale tax. I don’t think importer tax is included when you buy things online, only sale tax is. Maybe double check? I hope this issue gets resolved soon!! It’s such a pain.

thank you... I spoke with State various times.... it is all about CA sales tax.... Sate told me that $514.45 which i was charged by JD never made it back to the State... State is unable to locate JD in their database.

State letters which I received by mail (on official letterhead) are clearly stating outstanding CA sales tax

@YGR it seems like it's absolutely time for a savage review on all of JD's social media accounts.

I think this is the same thing JD is confused about. JD keeps providing import tax information, but never paid the CA sales tax that they charged @YGR when CA requires sales tax to be paid.

The fact they are dropping the ball in their own sponsored thread is kinda comical. I feel really bad for @YGR though. What a stressful situation…
Agreed. I think many in this thread have considered JD bags, but this is completely off-putting. I was really hoping for JD’s success, but to take so much of @YGR’s time and cause such stress, their mountain to climb is that much greater.
