I think it depends on how much you're customizing. I posted this back in Jan 2024:For custom orders I thought it was a 20% upcharge, vs 30? I reached out and they said its 30%..
I did inquire about a custom Diane messenger bag - I wanted black with gold hardware and a purple inner flap.
I was told that the change of hardware would be a 20% raise in cost, and the change of the inner flap would be a $10% raise. Total cost for the order would be 6630 Euros or 7269 USD and it would take 6 months to fulfill.
The current price of the black standard Diane messenger is 5100 euros/ 5593 USD, so to change hardware and the inner flap is indeed a 30% price increase.
You are true inspiration!Hi Guys! I haven't been around for a while because life got in the way (I'm pregnant for the first time! First trimester is awful!), but wanted to post an update on my Diane Messenger Bag in case anyone else is curious about how the leather holds up after months of use.
I have used my bag frequently since I got it back in April, so roughly almost 3 months of use. I'm including 2 photos: one of the bag as it was this morning, never been buffed at all during my 3 months of use. And I don't baby it! I literally half-mindedly threw it into the backseat floor of my car this morning where it rolled around a bit during the drive, and had it sitting on the pavement at lunch today. The second photo is after probably a minute's worth of buffing using one of the sleeves it came in - by no means much effort or even using anything fancy.
All in all, I'm pretty please that the scratches can so easily disappear. Stand further away and you really don't see them at all. Now I just need that strong patina to start forming!

I am still worried about it, trying to be calm and take it easy… but it is hard when I leave it on the table at a restaurant. My brain can’t stop thinking of the “what ifs” what if some oil will fall, what if this glass will spill 😂😂😂😂
I'm so sorry that this keeps happening to you. You said your receipt said you had paid taxes----can't believe this information isn't enough for the State of CA! I'd get JD involved again, as annoying as this situation is. It really should be their problem, not yours.Hello again!
I want to cry. I keep getting letters from the State of CA claiming that my sales tax is not paid for the order i placed on line in July 2023..... this is a 3rd letter. I already involved Joseph Duclos (when I got a 2nd letter about a month ago) and I was hoping it is all resolved. I feel so hopeless and sad.

JD told me last time that they will take over this issue and State is telling me that they never did.... as of right now, State is unable to find JD as registered paying agent .... If they're closed for contact for any reason, the website should state that and also any email sent to them should receive an "out of office" type response with details of when they're open again, surely.
Can you send a photo of your receipt, to the State dept, which shows that you have paid the taxes? That would then be on record and at least stop them asking you for money.
I looked on JD website and under Terms of Sale, 8.3 (c) it specifically confirms that "all taxes and duties are collected at the time of payment".
The trading name of Joseph Duclos is for the company MANUFACTUREJD so maybe the State need to look for that name instead?
JD is a French company so I imagine all financial transactions are routed via their offices in France and the US need to contact them there?
Just thoughts but may be of help.

I have sent my receipts to the State and JD was copied on all emails multiple times. At the moment State is unable to locate JD in their database as a paying agent. All communication was between myself, State and JD.... all parties are copied on all emails... State keeps saying that JD didn't provide them with their registered name and therefore State is unable to validate that taxes which were collected from the customer (myself) got remitted to the State....State also said that they have tried contacting JD multiple times but there was no response. Per my understanding, State have no choice but go after me for the sales tax.... This is a big mess....
